Welcome to the affiliates of Philip Morris International (PMI) in Poland.
PMI is the leading international tobacco company, with products sold in approximately 180 countries.
In Poland, our company is the largest manufacturer and employer in the tobacco market. We have a strong portfolio of international and local brands including Marlboro, L&M, Chesterfield and Red&White.
The history of PMI in Poland began in 1973 when the company signed a licensing agreement with a state-owned tobacco company called Zaklady Przemyslu Tytoniowego in Krakow (ZPTK) to produce Marlboro under license. In 1996, PMI acquired part of the shares of ZPTK from the State Treasury and the company was renamed Philip Morris Polska S.A. in 1998.
At the end of 2005, another affiliate of PMI was established in Krakow - PMI Service Center Europe Sp. z o. o. (PMI SCE). The PMI SCE is the European Service Center, which provides financial, human resources and information technology services to PMI affiliates in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Today, there are four legal entities of PMI in Poland, employing approximately 3000 people in total in the company’s factories and offices in Krakow, Lezajsk, Warsaw and our distribution centers across the country. While our employees and our products can be found across Poland, the heart of our Polish operations is Krakow where our main factory and many of our administrative functions are based.

Over the past several years PMI has invested more than $500 million in Poland, mainly for the modernization of our manufacturing facilities and the development of our organization and employees. We are and wish to remain an important player in the Polish economy and society, as well as one of the best Polish employers and a responsible manufacturer of high quality tobacco products.
