Meet Raymond - Brand Manager
Raymond joined Philip Morris International more than three years ago as a Sales Representative for the Benelux market. He recalls, “I had a great career coach who shared his experience with me. It was hard work, but you really get to understand the market when you work in the field.” After a year and a half, he was promoted to the position of Brand Executive. Raymond was excited to assume his new responsibilities, but also worried about being the newest member of the team. “At first I thought I had to do everything by myself. I quickly realized I could rely on the brand teams. I learned a lot from my own experiences, and I also had great support.” After two years as Brand Executive, he was promoted to the position of Brand Manager.

Teamwork is essential to his job. He and his team members are responsible for three distinct markets, each with unique consumer profiles, legislation, and challenges. “We do line extensions, consumer engagement activities, promotions, all kinds of projects. We spend a lot of time looking into market research results to make sure we stay ahead of the curve.” He enjoys heading up projects, such as a popular consumer engagement activity allowing adult smokers to personalize their products. “There’s nothing like taking full responsibility for a project and leading it to success,” he says.
After three and a half years at PMI, things have come full circle for Raymond. He was mentored as a Sales Representative, and now he is coaching a management trainee. “Mentoring is really new for me, but I like it a lot. I’m learning, too—because as they say, if you really want to learn something, then teach it.” Want to play to win? Come join our team.
