Roxana’s curiosity has opened doors since 2005 and the start of her career with Philip Morris International. Her journey with us began as a Legal Adviser for our Sales department, and soon she wanted to learn more about our business. In addition to providing legal expertise to the Sales teams, she began expanding her knowledge of trade, sales, and marketing. “I wanted to know everything,” she laughs. “Distribution processes, trade programs, how to build relationships with retailers…I was fascinated.”

Eventually she accepted the position of Merchandising Supervisor, leading a team of seven people, then a position in Consumer Engagement, coordinating and supervising consumer promotional campaigns. Later, she was offered the opportunity to travel to our Operations Center in Switzerland, where she completed a one-year assignment as a Brand Building Trainee. While in this position, she gained experience in a variety of areas, from sales strategy to consumer intelligence, global brand communication, and consumer engagement. Then back to her home country of Romania where Roxana accepted the position of Manager Events.
Recently, she moved to the Nordic countries, as leader of the newly-established Trade Marketing department, responsible for trade engagement in Norway, Finland, Denmark, and Sweden. She finds herself in an unfamiliar setting, far outside her comfort zone—which is exactly how she likes it. “Excel files, pie graphs, business applications, I barely knew how to do any of it. But I learned quickly thanks to my more experienced colleagues, and I loved it.”
“The opportunities are numerous,” Roxana says. “I’ve had a really dynamic career path.” She believes PMI is the perfect fit for her inquisitive, passionate personality. “Since joining PMI, I’ve held seven different positions! The company has supported me every step of the way. And it’s not just about career. I’ve made friends all over the world.”
