Our goal is to develop methods to assess whether a product is likely to reduce the risk of smoking-related diseases without waiting decades – the time that many smoking-related diseases take to develop. To do so, we plan to combine the strengths of classical scientific methods—non-clinical and clinical studies—with systems biology, state-of-the-art computational science, and disease modeling.
