Senior Accountant

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: - Responsible for month-end closing processing, accounting transactions verifying and internal/external financial reporting of Indochina process in comply with PMI P&P, US GAAP, VAS (RHQ, accounting, internal control, fiscal compliance) and local statutory requirements in a complete, accurate, timely manner. - Understand and consistently apply, enforce, and ensure compliance with general and/or specialized regulatory, tax and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Accountability 1: Responsible for recorded accounting transactions and financial reports meets with accounting standards (US GAAP, VAS) and VPM Branch requirements as per affiliate scopes: - Ensure journal vouchers and supporting document are prepare and enter into SAP in a complete, accurate and timely manner which meet with PMI/RHQ/local requirements, SOX and tax regulation - Coordinate with FSC for period end closing (month-end, quarter-end, year-end) process to deliver financial reports in a complete, accurate, timely manner and meet the requirement of PMI P&P, US GAAP, VAS, local statutory reporting as following. - Prepare and complete all asigned period-end transaction check list - Review the financial reports and provide commentary to manager for reviewing Accountability 2: Responsible for delivering complete, accurate and timely Financial Accounting reportings (monthly, quarterly, year end and ad-hoc reports) in comply with PMI P&P, US GAAP, VAS and statutory requirements: - Ensure all the required reports are submitted as per PMI - Perform monthly reconciliation schedules and review reconciliation schedules from AR/AP/FA as per assigned scopes in Runbook to ensure all sub-legders are reconciled with General Ledger accounts and any discrepancies should be identified and explained to ensure the accuracy of accounting transactions - Pro-active communicate with related parties and direct supervisor to resolve the issues in order to deliver reports in complete, accurate and timely manner Accountability 3: Tax Compliance & Tax Reporting (Direct tax) - Ensure compliance with all local, U.S. and other international tax compliance and legislations for all taxes across all departments and affiliates within the group - Ensure various government and tax reporting requirements submitted to the various government agencies and regions are accurately & timely reported - Apply and implement the PMI Principles and Practices for tax area - Ensure all tax reporting and payments meet PMI and SOX standards of control and review (Direct Tax) - Review and ensure all filing of various monthly, quarterly and annual tax returns on Corporate Income Tax; VAT & FCWT are submitted on a timely basis while ensuring strict compliance with local tax regulations and administrative requirements - Obtain permit/approval/ruling from the authorities in consultation with the Manager Accounting, Tax & Treasury and regional tax team Accountability 4: Timely consolidate and provide financial information to internal/external auditor and tax authority as per instruction from direct supervisor Accountability 5: Local treasury coordinator - Prepare PMI treasury reports (affiliates report: AFP, credit management, Insurance) and ensure integrity of treasury data is maintained at high level, and reports are submitted on a timely basis to guide management in planning, controlling and making business decisions - Assist FSC treasury in providing the required documents (hardcopy, getting signature) to local bank - Coordinate FSC treasury in order to monitor daily cashflow and payment process Accountability 6: Fixed assets accounting: - Manage fixed assets movements and update in Fixed assets register to ensure those movements are recorded properly according to VAS/US GAAP and PMI guideline - Perform and reconcile physical assets count of entity and follow up on discrepancies and perform necessary corrections. REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting and Auditing areas Work exprience: 3 years in supervisor level of accounting in enterprise or minimum 2 years experience in similar areas in FMCG companies. Skills: - People managerial, communication, planning, analytical and problem solving skills - Sense of responsibility - SAP, MS Office skills - Good command of written and oral English language Specialized knowledge: - ACCA qualifiaction is preferable - Knowledge about US GAAP and VAS - Familiar with major multi-modular/ multi-currency computerized accounting system packages - Understand month-end closing process and financial reporting process
