Manager Production

RISE TO THE CHALLENGE The Manager Production manages the Cast Leaf overall production facilities. This is a pivotal role to ensure the delivery of quantity and quality of incoming and produced materials fulfil the processing and product standards in a cost effective manner and meeting PMI standards. In addition, he/she is responsible for developing a highly qualified, capable and motivated team through effective management of people managers under his/her supervision and striving towards manufacturing and operational excellence using an Integrated Operating System and other appropriate tools and methodologies as designated by the Company. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Planning o Plan, schedule and manage monthly production with other departments and ensure daily targets are met as planned in a most efficient and cost effective manner. o Manage People Managers under his/her supervision to: o Ensure overall efficiency and effectiveness of production is met in terms of material, resources with highest quality and minimum wastage. o Carry out periodic analysis of process and material usage in production and identify gaps to address any deviations and recommend corrective action in collaboration with all the teams. o Ensure materials are strictly maintained within the production process to the standard and quality requirements in order to attain product consistency and integrity. • Training and compliance o Manage production floor with optimized workforce to suit production needs, with training and development needs are addressed to continuously upgrade capability of personnel in production floor. o Ensure constant coaching of supervisors under charge for their own development and to achieve effective Performance Management of the floor personnel. o Carry out and support performance appraisal, regular feedbacks and coaching /counselling on individual performance aligning to the agreed job role, responsibilities and standards. o Manage employee relations consistent with Company People & Culture policies and Malaysian Labour Law. o Lead his/her team to work with Union to take proactive approach towards resolving issues and to maintain Industrial Harmony. o Sustain a conducive, harmony, engaged and productive work environment with Career Ladder, Productivity Linked Wage System, Employee Engagement Activities and development programs. o Lead the implementation of an Integrated Operating System for manufacturing and operational excellence. • KPIs and process improvement o Responsible towards achievement of department KPIs through effective management of team under supervision. o Support the team to develop strategies in collaboration with other departments in order to achieve short term and long term objectives consistent with department direction, ensuring a progressive improvement in performance. o Educate, direct and monitor implementation of tools across the factory through close collaboration with subject matter experts. o Draw up long term plans to engage the workforce to embrace continuous improvement culture through continuous education, awareness and implementation of Integrated Operating System tools. o Initiate and ensure implementation of program to monitor, control and maintain daily process adherence and product quality performance. In collaboration with QA department to implement day to day quality measurement and control techniques, ensure procedure in place to improve quality awareness, close monitoring and controls by trained resources and initiate improvements in order to maintain quality of final product at highest standards. o Implement process, resources and system improvements to continuously improve effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of production floor. o Drive the PMI transformation agenda through the ownership and deployment of initiatives identified by the company, in its three pillars, i.e. Internal, External and Product. • EHS Management o Lead continuous improvement of PMM's Safety Culture in achieving Safety Excellence by: o Ensure full compliance with applicable regulatory, PMI and PMM EHS Management System requirements on EHSS by setting up clear expectations of EHSS performance and continuously follow up on the commitment. o Leading meetings with safety matters as a priority agenda. o Empowering direct and indirect reports to stop work when unsafe practices observed and recognizing their outstanding safety performance. o Managing safety through leading indicators and integrate safety into performance review. Essential Skills and competencies: • At least 8 years working experience in automated manufacturing environment in similar capacity. Proven track record in process management and ISO system. • Have a global orientation, with international experience ideally within manufacturing industries. • Highly competent on production procedure and systems. • Demonstrate excellent knowledge and skills of EHS rules and guidelines. • Strong fundamental in Statistical process control (SPC). • An influencer and able to motivate, lead and achieving results through others. • Proven stake-holding management, communication and engagement skills. • Be an entrepreneurial self-starter who comes up with new approaches, is eager to try those out and driving for results. • Holds a Bachelor’s degree and or recognized vocational certifications.
