The Head of Communication & PR will marry brand and corporate communications as they help build and reinforce the Philip Morris International (PMI) brand and its commitment to smoke-free products in-market and with other PMI communicators around the world. They must possess a high level of competency in consumer, corporate, crisis and advocacy communications, with an emphasis on PRing our products and our corporate reputation. They must be seamlessly integrated into our transformational product’s consumer journey.
This individual will lead the local Communications department, helping to formulate, execute and sustain a global media strategy for PMI in Israel as the company continues to amplify its transformation towards a smoke-free future. The communications function is viewed by PMI’s senior management as strategically critical to building on the company’s established success and reinforcing its reputation in a fast-changing, complex and competitive global media landscape.
The Communications head will be responsible for creating, managing and measuring the impact of communications campaigns targeting consumers (current adult smokers), regulators and activists, groups that include members who are strongly anti-tobacco, which makes the work that much more challenging (and rewarding).
Their work will see them work closely with the marketing/commercial team. They will also manage product announcements and direct thought leadership around heat-not-burn technology, cultural and business matters, all in close collaboration with the office of the global Senior Vice President, Global Communications and other communications, publicity, marketing and policy colleagues around the world.
•Significant experience in communications a must (such as journalism, corporate spokesmanship, PR agency)
•Globally orientated; experience in a global organization a plus
•English fluency a must
•Capable and confident to serve as company spokesperson
•Able to build and maintain relationships with journalists, on social media, and with other external stakeholders
•Experience launching and managing PR/corporate campaigns
•Able to work cross-functionally inside the organization
•Deeply familiar with – and enthusiastically curious about – technology, entertainment, intellectual property, privacy and other web issues
•Entrepreneurial self-starter who comes up with new approaches and is eager to try them out
•Experienced at using various tools to deliver a message, like infographics, animations, videos or the written word
The Head of Communication & PR will report to the Director External Affairs, and maintain a relationship with the Global Communications department.
