Manager, Workplace Building Projects

We have an opportunity for a Manager, Workplace Building Projects to join our Workplace Experience (WX) team based at our Operations Centre in Lausanne, Switzerland. The WX Team is accountable for to delivering our next generation workplace services across all PMI corporate sites in Switzerland (Hospitality & Wellbeing, Transportation & Commuting, on-site Events & Conferences, Security & Safety, Office Services, workplace induction and other employee advantages). The Role The Manager, Workplace Building Projects is responsible for advising on strategy for the Swiss projects portfolio (30 million CAPEX/about 100 projects per year). This position oversees all aspects of construction project management and capital project services for PM portfolio. The Manager, Workplace Building Projects will coordinate and supervise a team of 3 Projects Managers and processes to ensure that our projects are delivered on time and produce the desired results. The role will collaborate closely with key stakeholders internally and externally. Responsibilities Project management: •Manage the relationship with clients and stakeholders. With “Customer at the core”, you ensure all projects are meeting the needs of customers. •Make certain that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within allocated budget. •Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the precise execution of projects. •Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility. •Develop a detailed project plan to track progress, using appropriate verification techniques to handle changes in project scope, schedule and costs. •Perform risk management to minimize project risks, reporting and escalating to management as needed. •Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation •Planned Value: Assess the project VA/NVA and share with business (COE/OPS) •Sustainable workplace: Meet demands for new and renovated facilities that are accessible, secure, healthy and productive, while minimizing any negative impacts upon society, the environment, and the economy, and include sustainable design attributes to reduce operation costs. Drive Excellence and Compliance: •Manage annual project business planning (Op ex and Cap ex) budget process, and development of multi-year road map of projects and initiatives. •Continuously improve organizational effectiveness to ensure the attainment of the highest levels of efficiency and customer satisfaction. •Oversee financial compliance with PMI standards and ensure that projects are consistent with applicable codes, laws, and guidelines. •Develop reporting tools that provide leadership with clear understanding of overall projects performance •Define relevant workplace KPI’s both for internal functions and external partners and collect insights •Innovative and creative and in the use of technology be able to approach real estate projects with a fresh perspective Build and Lead a Strong Team: •Provide effective leadership for employees in project functions. Be responsible for unit goals and strategy, budget, staffing, performance measurement, and problem resolution •Ensure that all employees participate in the annual performance management process and are effectively trained and developed to meet the needs of their jobs and to grow as professionals •Actively promote an inclusive climate, agility, creativity, cooperation, personal and team achievement, the valuing of differences, and high ethical standards •Ensure that decisions and policies are effectively communicated and consistently placed into practice throughout the unit and give space to deliver •Ensure teamwork and quality within the unit, as well as between PM colleagues and clients About You •Proven experience as construction project manager of progressively responsible experience with projects supervision or an equivalent combination of experience. •Demonstrated portfolio experience in project planning and strategy, especially innovative approaches to integrating workplace experience. •Must have strong financial budgeting and planning acumen. •Knowledge of the principles and practices of building construction and maintenance. •Familiarity with CH-quality and health and safety standards. •PMP or equivalent certification. •Lean 6 Sigma Black belt certification will be an advantage. •Excellent organizational and time-management skills. •Strong customer relationship management skills; Ability to operate independently and effectively in an ambiguous environment. •Strong analytical and strategic problem solving capabilities. •Team player with leadership abilities: experience leading internal and external teams including experience mentoring a team and fostering an environment of continuous learning and development. •High profile communication skills and leadership skills with the ability to influence multiple business partners across all levels with differing points of view. •Must have experience with vendor negotiations and vendor management. •Successful background working within a matrix organization that requires a high level of flexibility, team collaboration, and effective leadership practices. •Highly professional and ethical. •French and English written and spoken fluently. •Good knowledge of MS Office.
