The Strategy & Program Delivery department is responsible for driving & communicating overall market strategy development and initiatives with alignment across all functions, the development of long-range plans for Philip Morris Italia, while establishing prioritization and governance of all programs architecture through the Project Based Organization methodology and related business delivery.
Your ‘day to day’
Member of the Strategic Office, coordinates strategy delivery, program architecture, portfolio and pricing management and Long Range Plan in market. All of this supporting the governance of Key Issues and strategy document and translating corporate strategy into market strategy.
Coordinates “big tickets” cross-functional initiatives, with opportunities, risks and business insights to reach overall PM IT strategy, by supporting in anticipating / reacting to business needs with strategic and prompt decision making.
Support to the contribution to PM IT success, aiming to reach of business and consumer KPIs, through all the projects and initiatives along the consumer Journey, aligned to the strategy infrastructure of the affiliate and liaising with all relevant departments
Specific responsibilities include:
STRATEGY: Work closely with the management to support market strategy development, i.e. strategic papers and full Key Issues & Strategies process. Coordinates alignment across functions.
Refine business strategy, including formulation and revision of key programs to deliver (including KPIs), depending on evolving business needs. Support Head of Functions’ strategy and project planning. Anticipate & react to business needs, supporting MD and entire MT of PM IT to refine business strategy, including formulation and revision of key programs to deliver.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT: Coordinates Long Range Plan (including competitive framework, business & financial direction e.g. government impact) in close collaboration with Finance. Synthesize market-level competitive intelligence with support of commercial and finance organization.
Contribute with ideas and insights to Business Development initiatives and opportunities related but not limited to increasing market expansion, portfolio, establishing new channels, third parties margins and building new partnerships that contribute to overall business and commercial objectives. In this context, analyze current business initiatives to highlight insights and pain points, trigger corrective actions and propose alternative plans. Moreover, upon request assist all functions with initiatives feasibility studies.
PROGRAM ARCHITECTURE: Ensure that the program architecture is aligned with the strategic framework. Implement KPIs framework anchored to OGSM principles.
Drive selected key projects and initiatives in the market; drive continuous improvement initiatives, with coordination of functional business opportunities.
Ensure the plan is delivered according to the expectations.
MANAGEMENT PRESENTATION: Coordinate business and executive presentations for PM IT and SMT management (e.g. Quarterly Business Forum, Convention, Strategy), liaising with all departments in the affiliate, ensuring accurate and appropriate content.
ANALYSIS AND REPORTING: Coordinate analysis and identification of business opportunities and risks in PM IT, with emphasis on consumer pain points, retail prices, value chain, profitability, taxation, competitive fundamentals, etc.
Leverage on Commercial Intelligence to track the program delivery and propose adjustment of the initiatives where needed.
STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT: Liaise with project owners and build trustworthy relationships with all related stakeholders (financial community and PMI Central Functions).
LEAD BY EXAMPLE: Be an ambassador of Project Based Organization within the organization; ensure a structured, process - and planning- oriented business approach is adopted and guide junior colleagues to embrace the mission to “be a trusted advisor for management & a business partner within the affiliate”.
Who we’re looking for
• University Degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field;
• 5-7 year combined significant experience in Commercial/Finance/PMO roles in FMCG or multinational highly structured Companies/Consultancy
• Knowledge of commercial functions
