Your ‘day to day’ You will be employed in Hong Kong under Philip Morris Asia Limited (PMAL). PMAL operates as a subsidiary of Philip Morris International, Inc. for the Smoke-Free Products at electronic hub (eHUB). You will drive implementation of sustainable design practices across PMIs product portfolio focused on electronics and accessories, including product design, recycling programs and circular economy project implementation. Manage complicated and/or strategic product/process/system sustainability projects from initial studies to full completion, utilizing and adhering to Project Management standard methodologies to ensure successful completion of projects/programs within the Product function. Responsibilities • Drive implementation of core programs to enhance the sustainability performance of the electronics product portfolio including governance of established sustainable design framework, building the roadmap and execution of product eco certification, and development and implementation of design for service/repair/refurbishment programs. Working directly with industrial design, engineering and development teams, drive incorporation of more sustainable materials into product portfolio, including electronics and accessories, with strong knowledge of technical/engineering/financial tradeoffs to ensure optimal sustainability and business performance. • Cross-functionally collaborate with other functions such as operations, consumer, external affairs, and finance to develop and execute projects and strategies that are in line with PMI's corporate sustainability programs and IQOS brand priorities. Lead the development of sustainability results as part of the product stage gate and NPI process. • Manage multicultural and cross-functional project teams, as well as internal and external resources for the activities of each project. Communicate regularly with the project team, and ensure project status reports and other project information are prepared and shared to keep the project team updated on project phase. • Contribute to business justification of projects by running scope, benefit-risk analysis, budget and resource requirements to advise and enable management to make decisions that meet long term strategies. Contribute to resolution of project related issues by analyzing, identifying and proposing solutions to achieve the project objectives, provide project status reports and other project information to project partners and senior management on a regular basis. • Allocate and manage resources for assigned projects based on historical information, input from other staff, and general understanding of project tasks; anticipate and mobilise cross functional resources when required (procurement, legal, technology, finance, 3rd party suppliers and consultant, etc.). • Carry out all of the activities ensuring that PMI Compliance Policies, standards, and laws relating to these activities are fully respected, integrated and understood by partners, and implement adequate processes to ensure the safeguarding of information of a confidential nature. Who we’re looking for • Bachelor Degree in Engineering / Materials; MBA or Masters in Sustainability or Environmental Science is a plus. • 6-10 years of product design focused sustainability and project management experience or equivalent in a multinational environment, ideally outside PMI. Experience in the electronics and consumer goods industry is preferred. • Good command of English is a must. • Strong technical knowledge in various sustainability frameworks such as eco-design and circular economy, in the context of the electronics industry is a plus. • Product Eco-label and Certification scheme knowledge (including environmental product declarations, EPEAT, EU Eco-label, etc.) • Technical knowledge in material sustainability (such as recycled content, alternative materials, low carbon materials, etc.) and their suitable applications. • Exposure to product lifecycle assessment. • Executive presence and ability to tailor complex information to different audiences. • Strong experience in Project Management. • Risk management and mitigation skills combined with organizational knowledge.
