Your ‘day to day’ You will be employed in Shenzhen, China. We are looking for a Senior Engineer - Firmware to establish and communicate electronic device technical requirements and high level software designs. You will help defining company electronic device software development process in order to build effective, long term and high quality strategic partnerships to extend company software design capabilities. Provide technical guidance as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for software topics. Responsibilities • Define the SW architecture common to all electronic devices, ensuring proper knowledge management and documentation. Understand the technologies behind electronic devices to identify non-functional requirements and address technical challenges in the early stage of the development process. Define and communicate reusable electronic device software architectural designs while ensuring detailed designs and final software products remain synchronized with the defined architectures. Participate to proper explanation and on board of the architectural choices to colleagues as well as external development partners • Be a project team member and contributor for the architectural work in specific projects, applying a risk-driven approach to software development. Manage the software risk assessment and mitigation process during the requirement elicitation phase and architecture definition phase, ensuring that the architecture includes appropriate risk mitigation. Communicate significant residual risks to project partners and negotiate requirement modifications when this becomes vital to remove or diminish the associated risks. • Play the role of SME for software topics. Support the problem solving and decision making processes based on objective data as well as on his/her software technical knowledge. As such actively participate to TDR's and to the organizational change process. • Keep up-to-date with applicable new technologies, methodologies and tools. Propose new solutions applicable to the device development team and more specifically to the software development team, explaining the benefits and risks of implementing the change. Train the software engineers accordingly. Represent PMI in SW technical forums as appropriate • Ensure effective multi-functional collaboration between the software development team, other fields within the device development team and other functions. whenever an issue or a project is related to the software design of the device. • Chip in to the company software development process definition, maintenance and training of related BEPs, SOPs and WKIs meeting the crucial requirements of the medical device SW development process. Responsible to reinforce the process and ensure compliance to it. Strive for continuous improvement and alignment to the company device development processes, design procedures, work instructions and product documentation standard methodologies in line with the global device development team. Who we’re looking for • University degree in Software Engineering or equivalent • Minimum of 10+ years of product related design experience.
