Your ‘day to day’ You will be employed in Shenzhen, China. We are looking for a Subject Matter Expert, Senior Engineer - Battery Technology to manage new lithium battery development activities in line with the battery roadmap, including develop and assess performance of the lithium batteries within the battery roadmap with external partners; facilitate building the ecosystem for battery developments; provide battery expertise on risk mitigation & safety analysis; and develop, implement and report performance & safety metrics of all electronic device battery developments. Responsibilities • Manage and accelerate battery development and assessment covering the different electronic devices platforms in term of safety and performances. Promote a meticulous approach of the development to support multiple projects in parallel. • Provide battery chemistry and process expertise on battery development to facilitate the roadmap of electronic devices development. • Manage battery specifications and engineering validation testing of electronic devices in collaboration with internal and external partners. • Provide mentorship on failure analysis to support the programs. • Facilitate the development of lithium battery supporting ecosystem to accelerate research into new lithium battery technologies that can be used in electronic device platforms. • Ability to assist the assessment of viable new lithium battery technologies and transfer into partner facilities. • Carry out all of the activities ensuring that company Compliance Policies, standards, and laws relating to these activities are fully respected, integrated and understood by stakeholders, and implement adequate processes to ensure the security and confidentiality of information. Who we’re looking for • Minimum of 8 years battery-related development experience for consumer electronics. • Experience on battery safety and performance verification. • Experience in managing/collaboration with external development and manufacturing partners. • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English and Chinese is a must. • Experience in managing multiple parallel projects. • Creative individual, able to work independently whilst being a core team member. • Able to challenge direct reports, peers and senior management. • Structured approach to rationalize and develop process, tools and resources from both internal and external partners. • Experimental approach mindset, oriented to quality of results with technical decisions taken on the basis of objective data.
