We are looking for a new Ethics & Compliance (“E&C”) Manager for Japan. In this role, you will support the Head of Ethics & Compliance, Japan, in implementing our E&C program in line with global standards. This involves working across several disciplines to understand the evolving risk landscape, taking action to help people succeed without ethical failures, providing guidance to colleagues across the business, and responding to suspected misconduct – in a manner that everyone can trust. It’s also a high stakes role. PMI has made promises about how we do business. We’ve made them to each other, to consumers, and to the broader world. But you will not be alone, you will have the support of your supervisor, the Regional E&C Director, and your Management Team. YOUR ‘DAY TO DAY’ • Helping the Management Team and leaders across the organization ensure that people speak up about issues and respect those who do speak up • Conduct E&C investigations. Identify investigation learnings, implement remedial actions and administer PMI’s systematic anti-retaliation program • Act as a trusted advisor for employees who seek guidance on compliance-related matters or who wish to discuss or report suspected misconduct • Embed ethical standards in governance bodies and decision making processes • Assess and monitor E&C risks in Japan, using behavioral and data analytics to inform mitigation efforts such as trainings and communications • Support Head of E&C Japan to achieve E&C goals as a team member WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR • Bachelor’s degree in behavioral science, sales, psychology, criminology, law, finance or related fields • At least 5-8 years’ commensurate experience in relevant field • Business-level English and native Japanese (written and spoken) • Intellectual curiosity and an analytical mindset • Excellent listening skills and an open and caring communication style
