YOUR ‘DAY TO DAY’ As Digital Engineer / Sr Digital Engineer, you will be part of Manufacturing Solutions – Digital Engineering department for Philip Morris International. The position is based in Bologna (Italy). A key responsibility will be to support PMI journey into the 4th industrial revolution by owning the identification, the specification, the development, the experimentation and the industrialization of sophisticated technologies related to the PMI vision of Industry 4.0! As a change champion, you will ensure flawless business transition based on the capabilities delivered through digital engineering solutions within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This by working with multi-functional teams from production, engineering, IT and Quality assurance! Specific responsibilities include: • Support Digital Engineering initiatives by identifying manufacturing areas of improvements where advanced technologies can be applied and deliver added value • Lead global modernization projects in the domain of machine sensitization, machine integration, machine diagnostic, tracking and tracing • Define priorities, prepare projects and presentations to management (e.g. Business Case; User Requirement Specifications, Return on Investment, Request for Proposals etc.) • Support the development, industrialization and testing of identified solutions according to PMI standards, PMI best engineering practices and laws. • Provide knowledge transfer and expertise on the subject of respective domain • Ensure solutions qualification and validation in compliance with applicable laws. (i.e. Installation Qualification (IQ); Operational Qualification (OQ); Performance Qualification (PQ)) • Coordinate, maintain and improve governance of the respective domain specific initiatives and projects. • Coordinate the global development, standardization and continuous improvement • Own the communication and coordinate activities with various internal and external partners (e.g. OEMs, Equipment suppliers, our worldwide manufacturing centers, central functions, domain professionals, IT departments, External IT/OT Vendors and Engineering companies etc.) Key Qualifications: • College/University degree in Engineering, Automation and Robotics / Computer Science / Equivalent • Experience in crafting and implementing digital engineering solutions and in project management • Experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Process control, Automation, Robotics with machine to machine, machine to system communication and Industrial Internet of Things solution (IIOT) as well as Vendor management • Proficient in English written and spoken Requirements & Skills: • Advanced programming languages (e.g. C++, C#, Java, Python…) • Matlab with Simulink or other simulation model based development tools • Machine Learning algorithms (e.g. Reinforcement Learning, Supervised Learning) • Machine Learning models (e.g. Neural Networks, Decision trees) • OPC Unified Architecture • Computer technologies, Database system and technology • Image Recognition • Practical experience in computerized system validation • Acquainted with OT and IT in the domain of manufacturing and supply chain: (OPC UA, Machine Learning, Control Systems, automated In-Line Control System, Cyber Security, Networking, ERP, MES/LES, WMS, Planning and Tracking systems) What we offer Our success depends on the men and women who come to work every single day with a sense of purpose and an appetite for progress.
