PMI is seeking an experienced Data Scientist who is passionate about motivating change through the intersection of data, sales & marketing and science. As a Lead Data Scientist Consumer and Commercial, reporting to the Head of Data Science, you will lead experimentation projects and deliver impactful data products that drive key marketing decisions in B2C and B2B2C. This is a pivotal role that will have visibility at executive levels. You will support highly visible multicategory product marketing in the Reduce Risk Products domain and growth initiatives across +60 markets. Enterprise Analytics and Data, of which Data Science for Consumer and Commercial is part, collaborates with partners across Consumer Insights, Sales Development, Engineering, and IT Platforms. You will: • Lead the team of data scientists (up to Senior Data Scientist level), delivering solutions to analytical problems from Consumer and Commercial domain. • Work closely with Data and Software Engineers, Data Architects, Data Managers, Business Analysts and Product Owners to implement extensible data products. • Partner with other Enterprise Analytics and Data specialties on data gathering, data governance, evangelizing key performance indicators and democratizing data. • Apply best practices in the area of data science and leverage on ‘Zero Overhead Principle’ to deliver data products of top quality. • Work with complex datasets by leveraging distributed computing systems to ingest, mine, and analyze the data. • Design experiments, define the logic for A/B testing and experiment measurement, using generally accepted methods of confidence testing. • Take ownership in leading feature engineering, model exploration and lifecycle management of predictive models. • Partner closely with stakeholders to prioritize and deliver results on time, on budget and on scope and advocate for optimization opportunities. • Communicate and present project results and impact effectively. We’re looking for someone with: • 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, Data Analyst or Data Engineer. Preferably for digital media and/or technology business. • 2+ years of experience in experimentation design, A/B testing, propensity score analysis, regression modeling, probabilistic modeling, natural language processing, etc. • 2+ years applied experience in building complex production datasets that enable both Data Science and BI and in integrating production ML models with experiments. • Strong background and knowledge in statistics, probability, likelihood estimations, optimization and text mining. Experience in optimizing test methods through multi-arm bandit and Bayesian approaches is a plus. • Experience working with AWS-based technology stack (S3, SageMaker, EMR). Knowledge of cloud and real-time orchestration such as K8 is a plus. • Strong proficiency with SQL and Python. Experience with data visualization in PowerBI. • Curious business mindset with an ability to condense complex concepts and analysis into clear and concise takeaways that drive action. • Demonstrate ability to take on projects with a sense of ownership and ambitious attitude. • Excellent communication, social and presentation skills with meticulous attention to detail. • Minimum of a BSc degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Econometrics or related field.
