Your ‘day to day’ As a Sr Engineer - Reliability you'll plan and execute Reliability activities on Reduced Risk Products (RRP) through the application of scientific, engineering and reliability skills and knowledge with special emphasis on product reliability. More specifically, you'll Design for reliability (DFR) and Reliability Program Plan (RPP): • Develop, coordinate and conduct technical reliability studies and evaluations of module/system designs and architectures from Concept stage until technology transfer • Coordinate with various engineering functions to plan and drive the DFR (Design for Reliability) methodologies and detailed activities to demonstrate required product reliability performance • Be accountable to build robust RPP (Reliability Program Plan) for new products, periodically review/update the RPP and ensure outputs feed the right functions within the organization to achieve specified reliability targets and eliminate the risk of failure • Participate in design reviews and contribute to the reliability section of the design review • Foster reliability engineering concepts and present results for broad audience of engineering and non-engineering leaders Testing and early derisking: • Develop test protocols and methodologies to ensure robustness, durability and reliability of products • Create and implement test plans to effectively mitigate risks in new concepts/technologies. Translate test results into meaningful product life metrics and highlight shortcomings on any metrics not met. • Devise accelerated test methodologies to explore design margins and grow reliability efficiently on modules and systems • Develop reliability test plans, including climate environment, mechanical stresses, cycling tests, Accelerated Lifetime Tests (ALT) and Highly Accelerated Life Test and Highly Accelerated Stress Screen (HALT/HASS) to quantify reliability and/or to explore design margins Risk Assessment: • Perform early qualitative and quantitative design risk assessment (design FMEA, DRBFM, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Event Tree analysis) of the product in collaboration with multi-functional team • Develop methodologies for proactive risk assessment of subsystems and integration risks Defect Management: • Act as domain specialist in a timely manner to tackle any deficiencies or defects found during testing • Participate in the defect tracking system meetings and ensure defects arising from reliability studies are investigated and root cause identified • Collaborate closely with operation team and external partners to ensure reliability CAPAs or improvement actions are implemented in timely manner • Develop and recommend technical alternatives and design improvements • Participate as SME in the creation of the fault tree for new products ensuring a smooth handover to quality and markets Quality Management System (QMS): • Create/maintain Procedures (SOP) related to your functional area • Assist in best-practice (BEP) creation/maintenance Who we’re looking for • Master's or Bachelor's in Electrical / Mechanical / Material Science Engineering, Micro-engineering or Physics • Proven experience in product Reliability engineering and/or Quality Engineering or related field • Experience in mechanical, electrical, material, chemical and climatic reliability testing of consumer electronics devices (shock/drop/vibration tests, environmental Test, ...) • Experience planning, implementing, executing and analysing early derisking tests • Proven track record in statistical life data analysis, Design for Reliability (DFR) methodologies as well as (RPP) Reliability Programs Plans • Experience in project management, innovation and technology transfer of global programs • Experience in consumer product failure analysis (root cause analysis) and defect management of embedded electronic systems, ideally using a liquid/solid/gaseous consumable • Knowledge of industry test standards such as UL, IEC, and ISO... • Experience working with local and international suppliers for delivery on quality and time • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written Displaying the following traits would be an advantage: • Analytical and inquisitive mindset • Ability to creatively apply knowledge of reliability engineering concepts, principles, and theories where few/no precedents exist • Ability to operate under own initiative and willingness to try new things • Ability to tailor technical message to various audience • Well-developed interpersonal and communications skills crucial for working in multi-functional teams What we offer Our success depends on the men and women who come to work every single day with a sense of purpose and an appetite for progress.
