You’ll be working within the broader policy team in External Affairs, as well as across functions surrounded and supported by experts in everything from fiscal policy, customs policy, regulatory/product policy, environmental policy, public affairs, economic research, and illicit trade. You’ll be responsible to deliver impact, collaborating closely to Join us and use your policy skills for good: to change the lives of a billion smokers. We are currently looking for a Senior Manager, Fiscal Policy & ISG to join our global EA Policy team, based in London, UK (Global Studio), and play an active role in the biggest transformation in the history of our company. In this role, you will responsible to support the development and coordination of PMI’s overall fiscal policy & strategy and the coordination of customs and fiscal input to the Innovation Stage Gate (ISG) process. Key Activities: • Support on the development of a credible and holistic long-term fiscal strategy that enables a rapid and profitable transformation towards smoke-free products, while optimizing combusted products tax systems to support profitability and switching to smoke-free products • Analyse in detail new platforms in terms of fiscal, customs and trade standpoint and keep himself at pace of all new smoke-free product platforms from an inception standpoint • Participate in all Innovation Stage Gate meetings, provide input to the process from a fiscal and customs standpoint, and feed back in to the fiscal and customs policy directors. • Coordinate positions and actions with the Life Sciences, Law, Consumer and Commercial teams • Align all positions with the regulatory/product policy team (with regards to classification) • Stand as the PMO for fiscal, customs, ITP, trade policy areas – coordinate all meetings, prepare the analysis with a mindset of optimizing spent and raise flags, coordinate with the EA Strategy team on budget and strategy of these areas. • Proposing strategies to optimize costs or work on synergies with different departments. Desired Profile: • Bachelor’s or preferably master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Management, or related fields • Related work experience (8 years +) o Fiscal/Gov/corporate Affairs (market, region, HQ) in in highly regulated products (tobacco & nicotine a plus) o Experience on the fiscal affairs area a must o Experience/understanding of business development / commercial (link of portfolio pricing & tax) a plus o Knowledge of customs issues / excise administration a plus • Understanding/experience of the interplay between policy & politics in legislative process. • Ability to develop and prepare issue papers, advocacy materials and executive-level presentations that are impactful, comprehensible and bridge policy and politics • Ability to analyse issues and develop logical, customer-centric solutions, and distil into a concise, comprehensible, and impactful narrative • Good business understanding paired with excellent project management skills • Ability to handle complexity and collaboration with numerous cross-functional teams (PBO model) • Good interpersonal skills • Ability to engage with external 3rd parties on fiscal affairs policy matters • Strong interpersonal & writing skills, analytical skills, agility, resilience, outcome orientation What we offer Our success depends on the men and women who come to work every single day with a sense of purpose and an appetite for progress!
