YOUR ‘DAY TO DAY’ As Manager Manufacturing Quality you will be part of our Quality Department for Philip Morris Manufacturing & Technology Bologna S.p.A.. In your role you will plan, organize and control all Manufacturing Quality activities for both conventional and RRP products. You will act as main contact point for internal and external customers and lead the implementation of customers needs along the whole organization. In this position you will also control the manufacturing process in order to ensure an optimal and cost effective quality assurance and contribute to the achievement of quality and volumes objectives, up to the release of finished goods. You will ensure the competent support to the whole organization in order to qualify any new or modified material & process for conventional and RRP products. Specific responsibilities include: - ORGANIZATION DEVELOPMENT Develop Manufacturing Quality organization with the purpose to deliver to the factory the best service and the most competent support in the realization of the programs defined and anticipate any internal or external organizational requirement. Implement OPEN program with the Total Quality tools, the Lean Thinking tasks organization and the TPM approach. Cascade the Quality Manager strategies and objectives through implementing Department-related activities, in order to promote and realize synergies, sharing and learning opportunities, and enhance overall Quality Department performance. - MATERIAL MANAGEMENT Ensure direct materials are managed according to PMI standards. Ensure that material testing and incoming inspection are performed according to established procedure. Coordinate improvement & prototyping initiatives aimed to improve quality of materials and processes. Coordinate the establishment of a monitoring system for direct materials through data and trend analysis to identify potential deviations and preventive actions. - PRODUCTION SUPPORT Guarantee the required on floor Quality Support for RRP and conventional products in order to meet and sustain the PMI quality standards, assure self-inspection process through effective and efficient sampling plan and statistical process control (SPC). Ensure that product non-conformity and related CAPA processes are managed in order to ensure that quality improvement opportunities are identified, prioritized and action plans implemented. - RRP BATCH RELEASE Oversee the batch release process in order to release into the market RRP products that are in line with the product specifications and meet the PMI quality requirements. Sign and approve batch release as delegate for Quality Manager. - CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT Assure competent support to all Operations Departments in order to develop high quality processes. Initiate, coordinate and monitor product and process quality improvement activities with Operations functions to improve product, materials quality and machinability, in order to achieve a leading position on quality and to propose cost savings. - LEADERSHIP Manage and develop a motivated and skilled team to ensure performance levels, professional development and achievement of objectives, in respect of PMI Competences Model and Total Quality Philosophy. Develop and drive the execution of a skill matrix and training path for each role. Prepare and seek management approval for department budget based on factory objectives to ensure optimal allocation of resources, adequate funding, and compliance with financial practices. Support OPEN+ program deployment with Leadership and Lean Thinking. - HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT Promote and apply all rules concerning PMI Quality, Environment, Health and Safety. Report all situations requiring actions in order to minimize or eliminate risks exposure to personnel, company assets and societal impacts and be in line with or ahead of any applicable Law requirements and Company standards. Requirements & Skills: - University degree / Masters degree in Chemistry, Natural Science, Engineering or equivalent skills through demonstrated experience. - At least 5 years of experience in similar or equivalent context in quality assurance in tobacco, food, pharmaceutical industry. - Experience in managerial role and leading teams required. - Excellent knowledge in Product/Process Qualification and Customer Care. - Advanced knowledge of Quality standards (ISO, GMP; GLP, ICH) - Good knowledge on the regulatory framework for tobacco and food industries (knowledge on pharmaceutical and/or medical device industry regulation would be considered as and additional asset) - Project Management and Change Management skills - Good client-facing communication abilities, critical thinking and problem solving skills - Strong capacity to influence and coach, action driven, organization savvy - Fluent in English and desirable Italian, both written and spoken WHAT WE OFFER We offer a permanent contract Work location: Crespellano, BO Relocation support is available for this job Our success depends on the men and women who come to work every single day with a sense of purpose and an appetite for progress.
