Thanks to the imagination and perseverance of thousands of people at PMI, we have developed breakthrough products that are smoke-free and enjoyable.   About IQOS The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has authorized the marketing of our flagship electronically heated tobacco system, IQOS, as a modified risk tobacco product (MRTP), which represents a historic opportunity for public health. In doing so, the agency found that issuing an exposure modification order for the IQOS Tobacco Heating System (THS) is appropriate to promote the public health, and is expected to benefit the health of the population as a whole.  This decision demonstrates that IQOS is fundamentally different from combustible cigarettes, and a better choice for adults who would otherwise continue smoking. It follows a review of the extensive scientific evidence package PMI submitted to the FDA in December 2016 to support its MRTP applications. The FDA’s action authorizes the marketing of IQOS in the USA with the following information: * The IQOS system heats tobacco but does not burn it. * This significantly reduces the production of harmful and potentially harmful chemicals. * Scientific studies have shown that switching completely from conventional cigarettes to the IQOS system significantly reduces your body’s exposure to harmful or potentially harmful chemicals. In April 2019, the agency authorized IQOS for sale in the U.S. through issuance of premarket tobacco product application marketing orders, that deemed marketing the product to be appropriate for the protection of the public health. Now, the FDA has concluded issuing an IQOS exposure modification order is appropriate to promote the public health, and is expected to benefit the health of the population as a whole, taking into account both users and nonusers of tobacco products. Notably, the FDA’s issuance of an exposure modification MRTP order does not mean IQOS is FDA-approved. FDA does not ‘approve’ tobacco products. Further, the FDA’s decision does not mean IQOS is risk-free. The FDA’s decision is consistent with earlier conclusions of other leading regulatory and scientific bodies, including in the U.K., Germany, and the Netherlands, which have found that the product emits lower levels of harmful toxicants. Furthermore, the FDA’s MRTP authorization shows that IQOS is a fundamentally different product than combustible cigarettes, and must be regulated differently, as the FDA has recognized.  As of March 31, 2020, PMI estimates that approximately 10.6 million adult smokers around the world have already stopped smoking and switched to IQOS. We believe that this decision can help to further accelerate the transition of U.S. adults away from cigarettes. Role Summary A senior Ethics & Compliance professional in the Law Department who will be effective in exercising seasoned judgment and providing guidance to business and functional leaders across the organization. Reporting to the Director, Global Compliance , the Manager, Compliance Operations, Reporting, & Data Analytics will require a person of vision, integrity, commitment, maturity, judgment, meticulosity, as well as substantial leadership experience, who will be effective in exercising seasoned judgment and providing guidance, including day-to-day advice, to business leaders and employees on a range of ethics and compliance issues; will be responsible for performing a variety of moderately complex to complex compliance related matters and in some instances leading teams and projects; will ensure that ethics and compliance strategy, policy, and practices are properly executed; and will drive the company to do business with integrity, supporting our smoke-free vision and ensuring sustained business success. The Manager, Compliance Operations, Reporting, & Data Analytics plays a key role in providing efficient and effective support to develop, maintain, and administer all aspects of the company’s ethics and compliance program to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, both U.S. and international. With the General Counsel, Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer, Director, Global Compliance and other members of the legal department, the Manager, Compliance Operations, Reporting, & Data Analytics provides trusted business partnership and counselling on ethics & compliance decisions of importance to the Company and, as appropriate, contributing to the corporate strategy planning process; maintaining responsibility for designated practice areas as determined by the General Counsel, the Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer, and Director, Global Compliance; demonstrating an inclusive, consultative and thoughtful approach to achieving cross-functional alignment on issues internally; ensuring that compliance services provided are cost-effective, practical, strategic, and consistent with the company’s philosophies while creating an environment of collaboration with business partners and Legal & Ethics & Compliance Department colleagues to help drive continual process and policy improvements; contributing to and ensuring delivery on Department business goals and the overall business plan of the company, ensuring that Ethics & Compliance function implements leading practices and operates at the highest ethical standards and developing emerging talents in the organization. Key Responsibilities: •In conjunction with the General Counsel, the VP & Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer, and Director, Global Compliance, lead and manage the development and deployment of world-class Ethics & Compliance programs that meet corporate objectives within applicable regulations and guidelines. •Manage production of PMI Global Ethics & Compliance program performance reports. Lead associated data collection, data aggregation, and data analytics activities in order to provide ongoing Compliance program transparency to the Audit Committee of the PMI Board of Directors, PMI Senior Management Team, Legal, Ethics & Compliance Department Leadership, PMI businesses, and external regulators, among others. •Develop PMI Global Ethics & Compliance program metrics related to issue reporting and investigations, training, and other compliance risk-related topics, as appropriate. Perform quantitative and qualitative data analysis, identify trends, and generate key metrics, reports, and/or presentations, as needed. •Manage the PMI Compliance Helpline/Whistleblower Program, including the independent, third-party staffed Helpline and internal whistleblower reporting channels. Oversee the review, analysis, and handling of reported matters, including ongoing collaboration with other departments (e.g., Legal, Risk & Controls, People & Culture, among others) to direct reported matters, as appropriate, for investigation and resolution. Ensure matters are addressed and resolved in a uniform manner, and that matters are escalated to senior management, when appropriate. •Develop global practice guidance for PMI’s Global Ethics & Compliance team to ensure consistent and timely data entry into case management systems and develop processes to control, monitor and improve consistent quality of data entry. •Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and/or technology enhancements for PMI’s Global Ethics & Compliance program. Manage rollout and implementation of solutions in support of PMI’s compliance with laws, regulations, and PMI Policies. •Assist with the management and rollout of PMI Global Ethics & Compliance program initiatives and special projects covering a broad range of Compliance risk areas. Conduct research into best practices, frameworks, and methodologies that address specific project needs and strategic decisions and apply those to projects, as appropriate. •Assist with the implementation and execution of controls related to PMI’s Global Ethics & Compliance program and key risk areas. •Actively promote an Ethics & Compliance culture within PMI by creating an environment in which open discussion, speaking up and reporting of concerns is promoted and encouraged. Knowledge and experience desired to undertake this role •At least 10 years of ethics and compliance experience, with a focus on operations, reporting, and/or data analytics preferred. •Bachelor’s degree required; ideally, with extensive coursework in statistics, mathematics, and/or other analytical-based subjects. MBA, MPP, or other graduate degree preferred. •Excellent analytical skills, with an inquisitive mind to explore data and identify critical issues and trends. •Strong interest in new technology, devices, apps, data science and other uses of data. •Experience with systems implementation activities, including requirements gathering and documentation, system testings, and user training. •Advanced competency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other data repository and presentation tools. •Self-starter with the ability to meet or exceed deadlines, prioritize, multi-task, and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced, changing environment. •Strong problem-solving and project management skills. •Detail oriented with excellent organizational, writing, and presentation skills. •Solid working knowledge of U.
