Supervisor/Manager Indirect Tax Location: Netherlands – Bergen op Zoom At PMI, we’ve chosen to do something incredible. We are looking for a Manager Indirect Tax with strong experience in Indirect Tax (VAT, customs), willing to develop in longer term in Corporate Tax area. In addition to ensuring compliance with Tax requirements, she/he will act as co-pilot in the processes and projects of the other streams, offering tax trainings and advisory for the decision-making process. Key Accountabilities: • Provide advice/guidance on Indirect Taxes to business on specific transactions (e.g. areas of supply chain, sales and business setup) • Provide support and tax advice to Corporate Functions and Regional Finance/Operations Organizations within the group in relation to day-to-day activities and projects • Support initiatives in optimization of Indirect Tax compliance, governance and reporting • Supervise and cooperate with our shared services in filing VAT returns for Switzerland and various EU registrations, including refund of foreign VAT registrations • Train and provide indirect tax support & advice to Finance, Operations and Global Functions located in Switzerland and Netherlands • Support activities and controls on customs formalities in EU, providing tax advice on cross-border transactions and support set-up of specific customs license (e.g. IPR) • Lead/participate Tax Projects • Support in developing, implementing and managing the Group’s legal structure and associated tax issues, including group reorganizations and management of cash repatriation etc. • Longer term accountabilities o With the assistance of the third-party adviser, support in the preparation of the Dutch Corporate Income Tax Returns (including the Dutch Fiscal Unity) o Support on corporate tax matters pertaining to PMI’s Dutch Holding Companies and Joint Ventures, including supporting on the interactions with the Dutch tax authorities via the Horizontal Monitoring arrangements o Monitor, react and propose effective tax strategies/solutions to changes in the Dutch domestic and international tax landscape impacting our Dutch affiliates (e.g. new rules on Substance, interest limitation, anti-hybrid rules etc. Profile: • Master/bachelor’s degree in economics, law or similar • Several years of experience in Indirect Tax (with a focus on Swiss and especially EU VAT) gained preferably in Industry or Consulting • Solid Indirect Tax knowledge paired with sound finance know-how (e.g. accounting) • Experience with Dutch corporate tax in an international environment, including knowledge of Dutch Participation regime and corporate withholding taxes • Strong communication skills & excellent interpersonal skills; strong networker and team player Ability to work on complex processes and feeling at ease with regular business interaction • Superior problem solving and analytical skills, result driven and open-minded • Language: English Business Proficiency (verbal and written), Dutch Business Proficiency (verbal and written), other European languages a plus • Ability to lead interactions with Tax Authorities • Willingness to work flexible hours to be compliant with project objectives • Willingness to do the necessary business travel – limited extent • Technical knowledge: MS Office tools, Knowledge or experience in SAP would be an asset What we offer We genuinely care about our people and we show this through living out our Employee Brand each and every day.
