The Enterprise Analytics and Data (EAD) team is redefining Philip Morris into a company where decision-making process is driven by data. As part of this role, you will help to design and architect the data models that deliver customized solutions for the Commercial stakeholder base. Additionally, you serve as a liaison among business partners, technical resources, and project partners to ensure data requirements are being adequately modeled to meet desired business outcomes. To succeed, you will need a healthy mix of critical thinking, deep hands-on experience of modern data architecture practices deployed on the cloud and a sound understanding of the various standard methodologies and current trends in the data architecture domain. The preferred candidate is ideally a DAMA certified architect who can work closely with a number of IT stakeholder teams in a collaborative manner to ensure the proposed data architecture meets the underlying needs of the Commercial sector. The wider EAD Data Management Team and EAD Business Intelligence & Analytics Teams will own the partner pack closely followed by the DevOps (Platform) & Solution Architecture community. The day-to-day responsibilities are to be carried out against the primary backdrop of both global and local transactional and ERP systems with a cloud-based advanced analytics platform also part of this ecosystem. These are supported by state-of-the-art technologies (AWS, Wherescape, Snowflake, AWS Sagemaker, EMR) and methodologies (Data Vault 2.0, SAFe, Scrum) enabling key transformation initiatives. The Commerce domain Data Architect will support our transformation and B2B digital engagement with our retailers. Must have FMCG commercial awareness and B2B digital strategy, marketing and sales strong business processes understanding. Job requirements: Architectural Competency: • Minimum 5 years of data architecture experience in a cloud- based environment delivering large scale technology projects in an international company and environment • Knowledge of data modeling tools and methodologies (Kimball, Inmon, Data Vault). • Proven Experience with designing & building data models that are scalable and performant. • Design data analytics solutions from classic data warehousing data lake to big data solutions and hybrid platforms considering cloud and on prem • Ability to build conceptual logical and physical data models and define standards principles and methods to guide the development of those models • Demonstrate insights of data taxonomies, governance requirements & interoperability standards to integrate approach. • Understand the impact of emerging trends in the B2B, B2C, B2B2C, industry in data tools, analysis techniques and data usage. Be able to transfer and adapt analytical solutions from other industries to the commercial domain. • Understanding of key ecosystem partners across the B2B and B2C sectors • Track record of developing and sustaining partner relationships across the commercial sectors to enable initiation and delivery of projects • Experience working within a highly- matrixed organization and able to influence and lead change in such an environment including experience using virtual teams to deliver at scale and pace • Strong cloud technology background & knowledge of Data Architecture design principles. • Prepare and present data models for review to required governance bodies. • Proven experience of co-leading workshops to identify design/architecture patterns and solid understanding of backend integration technologies. Functional Competency: • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate technical complexities into business-friendly language using both conceptual and logical thinking. • Strategic ability to relate the current technology and application landscape to the evolving business needs and identify the data architecture gaps • Experience of working with broader architecture community (EA, SA, AA) • Understanding of modern data architectures, data extract mechanisms, functional decomposition and business rules engines • Experience with SCRUM methodology and/or following an agile approach o Self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills from a business perspective. • Good interpersonal, leadership, organizational and project management skills • Enthusiast and Advocate for “data architecture as an enabler” across the organization • Experience with SAFe & Knowledge of about BI and Big DATA ecosystems (S3, Scala, Spark) • Knowledge of Snowflake, WhereScape and PowerDesigner • Experience of working within a large, complex and geographically dispersed Program Qualifications and education requirements: • Master’s in computer sciences, information management, or any similar field requiring architecture and analytics • Very good communication skills and solid ability to engage at various levels in the organization. • Work with business and other EAD partners to translate their needs into architecture strategy • Work with IS/IT partners to collect technical realities and map this to the business need. • Highly collaborative mindset with curiosity, creativity, and willingness to embrace new insights, technologies and methodologies What we offer: Our success depends on all people who come to work every single day with a sense of purpose and an appetite for progress.
