For our Engineering Solutions team in Bologna, Italy, we are therefore looking for an Engineer/Sr Engineer – Engineering Methods & Analytics. In this position, you will ensure value capture by developing engineering methods and standards, boost value recovery with productivity programs in manufacturing and maximize value delivery by identifying and prioritizing improvement opportunities across manufacturing system. You will: • Support the identification and definition of manufacturing systems improvement programs (e.g., Lean6Sigma, new ManTech installation, CAPEX reduction) • Develop area of methods, advanced analytics, systems and simulation • Develop engineering design requirements (e.g., product, assemblies, processes, and quality control), design for manufacturing, design for assembly • Implement Industry 4.0 initiatives and automation solutions • Apply Simulation tools to support problem-solving • Collaborate with OPEN+ to build capabilities on relevant pillars PURPOSE Identify overall CAPEX requirements from OB/RF and prioritize streams for design-to-value application. Define and ensure optimal cost per function for manufacturing equipment Maximize CAPEX investment gains while ensuring product and equipment specifications meet consumers and internal customers’ requirements Explore synergies and promote sharing across functions Review product design ensuring maximum value delivery for the consumer KEY ACOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES 1. CHAMPION DESIGN-TO-VALUE: Lead design-to-value / design-to-cost / value engineering streams for multiple projects with multiple OEM’s, driving cost transparency increase, identifying levers for value optimization across the full cost structure and supply chain, analyzing technical requirements vs technical features, deep diving on Bill-of-Materials analysis, materials selection and parts manufacturing processes (lathe, turn mill, drilling, casting, additive manufacturing, etc). Engage organization and enable upskilling and knowledge sharing throughout the team 2. DEVELOPMENT, DESIGN AND INDUSTRIALIZATION: Contribute to URS / FDS (Functional Design Specifications) in order to deliver efficient and Total-Cost-of-Ownership effective (Product SVC, labor, equipment performance, maintenance and spare parts) manufacturing equipment to factories within agreed time and budget. 3. PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Develop and define business justifications, risk analysis and project’s scope. Identify key success factors, obtain the necessary support, define resource requirements, handle project execution and reporting in full alignment with PMI standards for management reviews and decision-making milestones. Lead multi-disciplinary and cross-functional project team members as well as external consultants / vendors. We’re looking for someone with: • University degree in Engineering or similar fields • Proven experience in systems engineering and automation solutions in engineering processes and manufacturing, preferably in white goods, food, automotive or packaging industry • Experience in Implementing Industry 4.0 initiatives • Skills in Power BI, Tableau, R Programming, or Clickview, preferred • Knowledge in new engineering design and advanced analysis methods, manufacturing systems improvement programs, Digital and Simulation tools, Process and Collection Analysis • Experience in understanding the product and process fundamental science and able to translate this knowledge into practical applications • Knowledge and/or experience in next generation of machines, new automation, new manufacturing • Strong problem solving and organizational capabilities and excellent interpersonal skills • Experience of agile systems engineering approach (Agile methodology) • Excellent English Speaker both written and spoken Soft Skills • Action Oriented • Communication with Stakeholders • Dealing with ambiguity • Interpersonal Savvy • Learning-on-the-fly • Organizational Agility • Problem Solving Technical Skills • URS preparation • FAT, CAT, SAT (IOQ / PQ) protocols execution • Design Reviews follow-up • Vertical Start-Up notions • Total Cost of Ownership awareness • Equipment, process and components cost awareness through component costing, design-to-cost experience • Supplier engagement and relationship management • Project Management experience What we offer: Our success depends on the men and women who come to work every single day with a sense of purpose and an appetite for progress.
