To know more about PMI and why it is a great place to work, check out the following link: Your ‘day to day’ As a Sr Scientist - Material Research, you'll autonomously conceive scientific work to support business strategies and needs. Moreover, you'll develop and implement work that involves the introduction of new or improved technology. You should be capable of leading multi-disciplinary/cross-functional problem solving teams with company-wide scope, where little precedent exists. Apart from these, you'll serve as a technical resource and subject matter expert to upper management. More specifically, you'll • Direct activities of project team members, consultants and external R&D resources to ensure project scope, budgets and schedules are managed. Participate in and/or lead multidisciplinary projects. • Review the latest technology trends in the field of material science and identify those that should be researched further. Serve as a technical authority for material science, and more especially in the fields of metallic and ceramics materials. • Identify external resources, structure research projects, develop scope and schedule, define requirements and handle project communication and reporting • Collaborate with Product Development and other internal partners to ensure the research projects in material science are conceived and defined based upon the critical development needs for the existing and new platforms • Provide guidance / training to relevant parties to ensure appropriate scientific / technical expertise is applied and transferred to meet business in line with agreed resource requirements Who we're looking for • MSc in Material Science, Physics or Engineering; PhD is an asset • Demonstrated experience in the relevant areas of R&D. Substantial experience in scientific research and product development. Experience and knowledge in the tobacco industry is an asset. • Substantial experience managing others directly/indirectly • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills; ability to work independently and in a team • Ability to handle ambiguity and agility in problem solving • Ability to communicate effectively and express sophisticated concepts at all levels of the organization, encourage direct and open discussions • Proficiency in English, both oral and written What we offer Our success depends on the people of all genders who come to work every single day with a sense of purpose and an appetite for progress.
