Your day to day Objective: Build and drive – data science capability, advanced analytics application, and strategic insights for People Analytics The People Analytics Data Scientist Lead will sit within the Global People Analytics team and will play a critical role in supporting both the business objectives and their workforce ambition by providing data science driven insights that help leadership make informed and better people decisions. As an established data scientist, you will be providing technical expertise around framing a business problem (hypothesis building), advanced analytics methodologies and exploring complex human and data questions focused on particularly strategic people agenda topics. In this role, you will analyse, model, test, build, and communicate outcomes that provide insights and lead to data-driven recommendations across the business, influencing and partnering with a range of stakeholder groups – Steering Committees, functional, market and regional stakeholder groups. You will have a small team supporting you over time, with a need to work closely across the rest of the People Analytics group to ensure efficient and aligned delivery. You will also consult and work collaboratively on best practices on data management, methodology etc in the people analytics domain with our key partners like Enterprise Analytics (EAD) & Consumer Insights teams. Key Responsibilities: • Seek to understand people-related business problems, help frame them into hypotheses and create actionable, data driven interventions • Work on diverse datasets, including internal people data and external research to help business leaders understand and act on critical people issues • Run experiments, test hypotheses, and perform exploratory data analysis, visualization, and model preparation • Take technical leadership across all people analytics projects across all parts of the people analytics team to ensure high quality, consistent and valid outputs are delivered • Lead the development of all data science capabilities within the People Analytics and the wider P&C data champions community • Designing and documenting rigorous project approaches with statistical methodologies that can withstand scrutiny from not only technical teams but also business stakeholders • Communicate and present project results and calls to action • Collaborate with and communicate broadly within the people analytics team, HR, IT (EAD), and the business to expand their data universe and publish analyses. • Develop and mentor a world-class people data science team Experience: • Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) • Extensive Experience in data science: minimum 3 years of hands-on experience building solutions for business problems using advanced analytics and machine learning • Experience delivering data science projects with a wide array of business stakeholders and data sets - experience with employee lisenting insights, alongside personally identifiable information (PII) and biased data; desired but not mandatory • Proficiency in best-in-class Machine Learning, statistical principles, and techniques • Extensive experience with Python with additional experience using GitFlow, Docker, Kubernetes and commonly used technology stacks such as AWS and Snowflake preferred • Experience with data visualisation tools (PowerBI is currently used as PMI) desirable but not required • Excellent presentation skills, distilling complex analysis and concepts into concise business-focused takeaways - strong verbal/written communication & data presentation skills • High level of respect for and ability to handle confidential and sensitive data al data governance and ethics • Ability to coach and mentor junior data science colleagues What we offer Our success depends on our talented employees who come to work here every single day with a sense of purpose and an appetite for progress.
