As Manager Environmental Sustainability- Climate, you will be responsible for integrating new acquisitions carbon footprint into PMI. You will be part of Operations Sustainability department and will be reporting to the Head of Environmental Sustainability. The position is based in Philip Morris Manufacturing & Technology Bologna (PM MTB): PM MTB is Philip Morris International’s Center of excellence, worldwide recognized for prototyping, mass-volume production, and employees’ training on smoke-free products. PM MTB employs more than 1000 employees and its production site of Crespellano is one of the most advanced manufacturing venues in Italy for technology innovation, competencies development and talent recognition Your ‘day to day’ • Support the governance of PMI's greenhouse gas inventory, including collecting and integrating data from various business units and suppliers, and supporting its digitalization and automation • Support PMI operations to build capacities and achieve carbon neutrality by 2025 including integration of new business acquired • Provide deep expertise on topics related to core capabilities (e.g. climate change, carbon reduction strategy, carbon removals solutions, renewable energies, climate innovation solutions, climate change adaptation strategies, carbon finance, etc.) • Identify emission reduction opportunities for PMI's top 30 contributors • Accountable to complete the “develop” phase of Sustainability Programs (typically in Gate 0 - Gate 3) relevant to the position scope • Develop toolboxes • Build internal capability in area of expertise • Develop operations sustainability Policy & Guidelines • Provide input for all external reporting submissions including support maintaining current CDP A rating (climate change, forest, water) Who we’re looking for: • master's degree in environmental science, Agricultural Production, Agronomy Engineer/Science, Environmental engineer or other related degree with a specialization in Environmental Sustainability Management or Business Management, or other related degree with a specialization in Environmental Sustainability and Climate actions. • 3 - 5 years of practical experience in environmental related Sustainability Programs, preferably within FMCG or consumer electronics. • Analytical Skills - Ability to quickly process and understand complexity & ambiguity and define right solutions to tough problems. • Abreast of macro trends in environment/social sustainability • Ability to pass messages in a concise and clear way, to present in an effective way and to interact with diverse set of stakeholders and levels in the organization • Ability to work effectively with and through a diversity of people • Leadership background where effectively collaborating with cross functional teams has been essential in multi-national and multi-cultural environments; • Strong ability to build network • Self-starter/learner, able to work independently but also take and implement direction and advice • Abreast of sustainability standards, policies and regulations • Solid practical experience in the area of climate change / carbon accounting / carbon reduction strategy / carbon removals solutions / renewable energies solutions (including MAKE or BUY assessment) / carbon footprint / carbon management / climate innovation solutions / climate adaptation strategies / carbon finance. • Proficiency in English What we offer: Our success depends on the people who come to work every single day with a sense of purpose and an appetite for progress.
