Your ‘day to day’ This Manager Primary Distribution will develop and lead the transportation strategy focused on finished goods distribution from factory to all distribution centres, exclusive distributors, and direct consumers across the country. The position is responsible for managing all facets of transportation & logistics with the ability to drive sustainable, flexible and safe options to ensure operational excellence in a cost-effective way. Major accountabilities LOGISTICS OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT • Lead all local transportation activities from factory for the domestic market in compliance with national legislations / regulations and in-line with PMI handling, storage, transportation, and EHS standards. • Participate in PMI worldwide programs: evaluate, analyze, and implement alternative transportation methods to reduce the lead time and cost, while coordinating urgent deliveries and contribute to overall company productivity and resilience. THIRD PARTY AND SYSTEM MANAGEMENT • Continuously track the performance of 3PL service providers and build action plans to take necessary precautions to proactively mitigate any performance issue. • Lead bidding process for new transportation lines (road, air, sea, etc.). • Ensure that the right logistics management systems are in place to maximize the efficiency of the in-scope activities as well as continuously thriving for system developments. BUDGET MANAGEMENT • Ensure that budget is prepared on annual base for the in-scope logistics and transport activities. • Ensure that spend is under control and productivity improvement programs are on track, targeting an optimal balance among service level, cost, safety & security without compromising on compliance. Who we’re looking for • Minimum 5 years of experience in Logistics and Transportation within a multinational environment, with a managerial exposure • Experience in Transport / Warehouse Management Systems, Third Party Management, Risk & Controls, Safety & Security, Cost Management, Customs Regulations, Engineering Solutions / Automation. • Fluent English, Spanish proficiency is a nice to have.
