On this role, you are expected to provide strong and effective support in the design, collection, management, analysis, and reporting of the activities of the External Affairs (EA) function. You are also expected to provide market knowledge leading to extraction of relevant and actionable insights in partnership with Commercial Planning, Finance Planning and Market Research teams. This position is of critical significance in providing local affiliate management with the information necessary for making strategic decisions for the External Affairs (EA) team, impacting on existing and future brand programs. Expected outcome is the successful delivery & utilization of EA Reporting and Analytics with recommendations and/or strategies to combat growth of illicit activities and/or address key issues to improve overall commercial performances in the growth channels and enhance company’s competitive advantage. Your ‘day to day’ • Build strong data analytics to enable data-driven decision making for the EA function and to support Commercial teams - Lead the development of data analytics strategy to harness, categorize and analyze data to identify opportunities, issues or trends that can be turned into meaningful insights to enable faster, better decision making by all stakeholders. - Design a systematic and standardized way to collect, report and analyze data for each key commercial department - Develop meaningful and actionable insights, incorporating the head of function’s inputs on legal matters to drive the growth of RRPs - Track each decision making and recommendations to gather quick insights and learning, giving the key stakeholders the agility to persevere, pivot or plug immediate decisions • Conduct regular environmental scan as it impacts our business strategies. Undertake key analyses and monitoring of the environment (including online and offline sources) to ensure key insights into the issues, trends and drivers, and provide recommendations to support Management decisions on business direction. Undertake specific industry intelligence gathering and reporting. Develop executive presentations of strategic reviews, and updates as required. • Lead ad-hoc research studies depending on business objectives in order to support strategic decision making. In this process apply PMI research protocols, as well as manage local research agencies. Brief , supervise and attend study fieldwork to ensure the highest standards of quality and insights. Analyze and interpret results, summarizing business implications and submit recommendations to management. • Provide an overall EA strategic planning service to local PMI management that includes the facilitation, development and communication of strategies and long range plans (LRP), directions and initiatives; manage EA project governance that includes providing insights and relevant recommendation on how to best utilize resources or budget to create impactful initiatives. • Partner with External Affairs, Global Communications, Commercial and Finance teams on design, delivery and evaluation of key EA initiatives based on data analysis and insighting • Establish, organize and drive “an external affairs knowledge center” within the organization in order to allow the local Management to take strategic decisions based on external and internal data/ insights. Research and use all possible resources (internal & external and new & existing) that can ensure a deep understanding and tracking of EA-related events in the market place in order to be able to anticipate potential challenges that can influence business growth. • Lead, guide and develop team members by communicating company and functional direction, agreeing and defining accountabilities and performance objectives, providing feedback on performance and identifying and supporting personal and career development Who we’re looking for • Holder of a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in data analytics, social sciences or business related fields • At least 5 years of solid experience in market research or business development or general business operations that delivers transformational change within an FMCG organisation • Evident Project Management and analytical skills • Proven ability to manage and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organisation What we offer Our success depends on our talented employees who come to work here every single day with a sense of purpose and an appetite for progress.
