Your 'day to day' As a Consumable Development Engineer, you will be a part of Consumable and Process Technology group, accountable for the development of new products and the integration of their various components such as consumable, device and materials in a smoking system. You will also be responsible for continuous performance improvements of existing products with focus on technical solutions according to efficacy, design and manufacturability constraints. In close collaboration with internal and external partners you will define and characterize product and material requirements through prototyping and experimentations. In addition, you will build knowledge on the critical attributes and participate in product industrialization. Furthermore, you will continuously look for opportunities to improve the performance of the product and materials, working towards PMI productivity and sustainability targets. More specifically, you will • Plan and implement product development activities, collect and provide evidence and data regarding product performance by designing experimental plans using “Design of Experiment (DoE)” principles, and coordinate their execution • Perform detailed risk assessment to support the industrialization of new products and materials from laboratory to commercial scale • Handle the creation of design documents and reports, ensuring that the supporting data are generated, consolidated and reviewed in line with scientific standard methodologies • Prepare and present clear recommendations to partners and management to enable effective decision making and further research and development stages • Ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements, as well as company policies, to follow an effective and continuous product development process • Identify and define technical requirements to establish partnerships with external suppliers / services to further support the product development Who we're looking for • Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Engineering, Material Science, Food Science or equivalent • Meaningful product development or industry experience and familiarity with tobacco, food or pharmaceutical industry • Proven track record in problem solving, team collaboration in cross-functional projects and performing sophisticated design of experiments, supported by statistical data processing, would be appreciated • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with various partners • A person that is curious, exploring, agile, and not late to take the lead, proposing new insights and solutions • A person that can work independently with low supervision, not afraid to take their own decisions and responsibility • A person willing to learn, explore and try without being afraid to do things differently and sometimes fail • Proficiency in English, French is an asset What we offer Our success depends on the people of all genders who come to work every single day with a sense of purpose and an appetite for progress.
