We are looking for a Logistics Executive (Customs Operations) who will work in İzmir and be responsible for ensuring customs procedures are developed/updated in coordination with External Customs Broker and the processes are in compliance with international, state and local laws & regulations. Read further if you want to learn what the main responsibilities of the role are: • Establish clear customs clearance strategies for all material groups, full compliant with national and international legislations and in line with company strategy. • Keep abreast all national and international legislation concerning import and export regime and proactively identify the impact of the as is and to be legislation changes and ensure that these changes are reflected into business processes. • Ensure that all procedures are developed and followed up with full compliance in line with legislation / regulation to preserve the company image; and ensure that all the issues related to customs area are escalated properly to Tax Department. • Coordinate customs compliance risk assessment programs and action plans to mitigate compliance risk; and manage customs broker relations in accordance with operational, legal and best practice requirements in an efficient way including review, selection, and ongoing evaluation of the performance in terms of functionality and attributes in line with company requirements to avoid serious implications to the company image. • Assess all opportunities in the customs area and lead the implementation of the process improvement and/or productivity projects in these potential areas while collaborating with the PMI Indirect Tax to improve tax and customs administration. • Perform the deployment of customs strategies in line with global strategies, principles and procedures for the management of day-to-day customs operations while providing technical support in terms of customs management and compliance as subject matter expert in customs operations. • Participate in PM worldwide programs, thus contribute to overall company productivity and resilience. • Sustain the strategy of External Customs Broker by leading and coordinating third party customs broker companies for customs documents control activities for all merchandise. • Manage the contract manufacturing processes (Inward and Outward Processing Regime) by developing and maintaining necessary systems with External Customs Broker to exchange business information while ensuring timely and proper submission of legislative documents required for application, extension and closure of incentive certificates as well as reporting to avoid compliance issues and get maximum financial benefits for the company. • Define and standardize Key Performance Indicators for customs clearance activities and ensure that performance analysis of Customs Broker Company are performed in an effective and efficient way. • Establish and calculate customs related inputs for SVC budget and reveal discrepancies on monthly basis by preparing comprehensive reports. Keep Logistics Budget figures updated in case of any cost change and share it with related parties. Establish and keep financial figures updated in case of additions of / changes in any productivity initiatives and share it with related parties. • Establish and monitor the logistics department’s invoice approval process in line with company principles and procedures. • Lead / Support internal and external audit processes on customs related topics. • Support the related departments on customs legislations / regulations and participate in the communications with the authorities in customs related areas. • Participate Daily Direction Setting meetings to guide and direct the customs clearance operations. Create an action plan based on the critical points and urgencies highlighted in the Supply Chain Daily Direction Setting Meeting. • Ensure that EHSS is integrated into all activities and adherence to EHSS Policy & Procedures is strictly maintained. • Provide the tools and the relevant trainings regarding compliance to the staff of Customs Broker Company, to transfer the PMI principles and procedures to support and maintain a compliant and well-managed regulatory environment and to assist third parties in responding to issue resolution and other business challenges. You: • University Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering or similar • Minimum 5 years of experience in customs activities / minimum 3 years of people management experience / minimum 3 years of and stakeholder management experience / 2-3 years of specific experience in international Logistics and knowledge about legislations / regulations within a multinational environment is an asset • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English • Have high level of personal responsibility and accountability for results • Have strong planning skills and analytical thinking competency • Have strong communication & interpersonal skills and have attention for detail • Are collaborative, a team player, customer oriented and a quick learner One more thing: at Philip Morris we see equal pay for equal work between woman and men as the baseline standard for equality.
