Your ‘day to day’ As a Manager Life Sciences Business Planning you will lead the Life Sciences business planning process with a cost-efficiency mindset, and using digitalization to foster a data-driven strategy definition and monitoring, as well as lead a system driven consolidation of project-based and operational data for the effective and data oriented definition, prioritisation and management of the Life Sciences program and project portfolio in-line with PMI strategy. More specifically, you'll • Drive the business process in collaboration with portfolio managers, project managers, subject area coordinators and Life Sciences leadership team to support and inform financial planning cycle (Original Budget / Revised Forecasts), ensuring business and project plans and needs are adequately reflected and collected by finance. Lead the consolidation of OB/RF by working closely with the 3 planning analysts. Develop and produce aggregated reporting in several dimensions to align with teams the overall information versus detailed data • Monitor and analyze operational performance, identifying areas for improvement and recommending corrective actions. Identify and recommend problem-solving actions on variances and trends, using existing operational and financial reports, and defining/developing new reports aggregating data from financial and portfolio systems • Foster a cost-efficiency mindset, by assessing past performance and cost evolution, identifying correlations, trends and root-cause analyses, and recommending potential opportunities for improvements based on data intelligence and simulations • Find opportunities to improve business processes and systems and develop and deliver plans to implement changes, ensuring compliance to PMI principles and practices • Act as gatekeeper of the Life Sciences structural portfolio integrity across systems, ensuring alignment to updated processes and organizational changes. Be the main reference in Life Sciences on implementation/use of ePPM (Enterprise Portfolio and Project Management tool, for the budget aspects), SAP, COUPA, CLM (Contract Lifecycle Management tool), Contract Database, Life Sciences portfolio tool and other similar solutions, in partnership with Finance, Procurement, Law, IT • Conceptualize, co-develop, test and implement Life Sciences project-based and Business-as-usual operational reporting systems and dashboards (in alignment to ePPM and financial systems) to support strategic decision-making, informing project intake & changes and long-term forecasts. Explore alternatives from fields such as data analysis and machine learning in order to bring more business value to our data • Conceptualize the Life Sciences project-based and BAU financial reporting systems and dashboards to be developed and implemented by the Finance counterparts to forecast, track and communicate financial performance • Work closely with "Portfolio&Projects Intelligence" team during upgrades of systems, tools and processes to ensure the integrity of the operational data and system functionalities Who we’re looking for • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or a related field • Substantial experience in operational planning and financial analysis in a global corporation with deep understanding of accounting principles and practices and project-based organizations, as well as within key role as product owner or business single-point-of-contact/subject-matter-expert during implementation and support of IT systems, ideally in domains such as Finance and/or Project Portfolio Management • Demonstrated Project Management expertise • Strong organizational skills and attention to details, understanding of business planning concepts for a project-based organization (budgeting, forecasting and scenario planning), ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships with department leaders and senior management. Technical experience in data modeling, data governance, data quality management and systems integration, including experience with data analytics and visualization tools.
