Your ‘day to day’ You will be employed under Philip Morris Electronics Shenzhen (PMES). PMES operates as a subsidiary of Philip Morris International, Inc. You will lead the Firmware development team and third party FW developers, to work with internal SME on the end-to-end cloud-based firmware product development, from requirement definition, vendor selection, product design & development, to deliver quality firmware development projects. More specifically, you will: • Supervise electronics device firmware development in collaboration with the SMEs; provide technical expertise on strategic firmware development to support the roadmap of the electronic devices. • Support and assess external parties which are mandated for devices firmware development and manufacturing as well as build and lead effective partnerships and relationship with external companies to extend electronics design, lead all aspects of development projects, including, but not limit to vendor selection, define & supervise pre-defined performance and quality agreement. • Work closely with battery development team to continuously improve the development process for better efficiency, quality, robustness against cybersecurity & traceability. • Work with product development teams to define the project plan & performance metrics for end-to-end cloud-based FW products. The performance metrics include UI/UX, device FW, cloud SW, App SW, development tools, test software, manufacturing tools, etc. Who we’re looking for: • University degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent, Postgraduate degrees with research background is a plus. • 15+ years experience in embedded firmware system development for medical electronics/ consumer electronics/ automotive/ scientific instruments, etc. With 5+ years experience leading development team(s). • Experience in cloud backend development, artificial intelligent or machine learning. • Expertise in at least one of the following areas: Embedded firmware design/ Wireless connectivity technology/ Cybersecurity. • Knowledge in cloud-based IoT ecosystem with machine learning capability, in delivering the outstanding user experience. • Strong mindset in software development process to ensure quality and traceability of the software performance metrics. Able to implement the risk mitigation plan during the development stage. • Effective interpersonal skills, good stakeholder management skills and excellent command of English is a must.
