Purpose of the Position: Reporting to the Manager Indirect Materials & Services (‘IM&S’ or ‘IMS’) Procurement, optimize local procurement of indirect products and services by collaborating closely with local management team and business partners, deploying local/regional/global sourcing strategies, optimizing the local supplier base and handling local supplier contracts. Principal Accountabilities Accountability 1: Build and maintain collaborative relationships with partners independently: understand internal and external partners’ objectives and needs; advise and influence partners on ways as to add tangible value to their objectives and contribute to the bottom line; lead cross-functional projects to increase spend efficiency or generate process improvements Accountability 2: Conduct and interpret industry, market and relevant macro-economic and supplier research for the assigned sub-categories: at market level and for the assigned categories, build industry know-how on markets, suppliers and products/services and provide recommendations from market analysis and benchmarks to internal team members Accountability 3: • Contribute to regional and global sourcing strategy definition by providing the requested inputs • Apply deep knowledge of assigned categories and subcategories to develop and implement relevant action plans. Supervise the implementation of sourcing strategies and processes across market / cluster and generate process improvements and economies of scale Accountability 4: • Use category specific analysis to prepare and lead bargaining with key suppliers within the assigned categories at local level ensuring quality standards of products/services are met • Commercially handle new & ongoing relationships with key local suppliers, vendors or subcontractors at account level to ensure that the affiliate receives satisfactory standards of services and there is contribution sustainability over time • Create, review and approve RFx's and contracts conducted by the team and / or the SSC Procurement Accountability 5 • Master the sourcing process and its interactions with other functional processes and ensure that the source-to-contract process is accurately and consistently followed. Ensure adherence to Global Procurement Policy and Tools at affiliate level. Supervise and define action plans to close gaps • Apply and encourage a Lean way of working and ensure effective transfer of non-core activities to Procurement service Center • Ensure that the sourcing plan and RFx initiatives are well supervised and detailed in the system. Optimize assigned important metric targets Accountability 6 • Master legal templates to encompass local legislative requirements, business needs, IP rights and exclusivity clauses • In collaboration with Legal and Finance, set up and maintain a set of standard templates that facilitate the contractual review process, as well as leverage on agreed PO's Terms & Conditions for non-critical services/goods to meet the Company’s objectives in terms of agility and time to market • Upon contract(s) being signed, control that all data regarding suppliers and agreements is correctly entered in all relevant systems (e.g. SAP, e-Catalogues, etc.) Accountability 7 Apply the PMI SRM concept: evaluate and implement different types of supplier relationships based on defined segmentation criteria. Complete governance and partner concern models to handle those relationships. Assess supplier performance based on quality, service, innovation and commercial relations Accountability 8 • Ensure an effective & efficient integration and engagement with remote teams or colleagues • Collaborate with Procurement Service Center on the agreed sourcing processes Accountability 9 Partner with Finance to understand the budget of assigned category, support to build zero-based budget, identify the cost/spend optimization opportunity from total cost of ownership view, and timely liaise in order to reflect the Procurement productivity into it, in accordance with the rolling forecast cycle. Requirements • Proven Account management skills required in order to build, maintain and improve collaborator management • Minimum 5 years working experience in IMS Procurement (including category management experience) or Commercial function • Strong self management and high communication skill • University degree • Proficiency in Japanese and English
