Sr. Analyst, Commercial Insights & Analytics executes the process of defining, gathering, analyzing, and distributing accurate, relevant, timely and actionable information about consumer, brands, trade channels, competitors, and business environment to ensure sound business and commercial decisions are made to achieve the company’s objectives. On top of that, contributes to the team to drive common understanding of current commercial performance, analyze, and communicate key drivers of business and provide recommendations that enable better decision-making for the business. ACCOUNTABILITIES Accountability 1: Identify business needs and strategy. Work closely with supervisor to define and anticipate business needs to enable regular trend tracking and measurement of commercial initiatives against strategic priorities and enablers. Analyze company performance and against competitors. Accountability 2: Analyze, communicate & recommend - CC + RRP categories' including competitors point of views. Work closely with supervisor to: • Perform detailed data analysis, data validation and identify data quality issues. • Analyze and communicate actual performance regularly and ad-hoc. • Gather insights, analyze & share findings, incorporate/advise to adjust strategy accordingly. • Provide actionable, strategically focused, evidence-based insights and recommendations to functions and management. • Work closely with other functions to ensure plans deployed are data-driven. Accountability 3: Data analytics development. Work closely with supervisor and: • Identify external partners capable to develop data analytics solutions. • Contribute to data analytics development projects in-line with timelines and quality levels. Accountability 4: Engagement and Self-development. • Set high expectations against objectives to drive individual performance. • Actively work with members in S&PD / other functions • Ensure learnings are shared across teams to enhance experience and consumer, brand, and business. Accountability 5: Compliance. • Carry out all the activities ensuring that PMI Compliance Policies, standards, and laws relating to these activities are fully respected, integrated and understood by stakeholders, and implement adequate processes to ensure the protection of information of a confidential nature. REQUIREMENTS A minimum of 7 years of experience in data analytics, reporting or business intelligence. • Advanced understanding of commercial/market-based analytics. • Advanced understanding of using Excel to process data and cleansing for analysis. Include Power Query, VLOOKUP, and pivot table. • Advanced in translate hard data and finding to non-technical audience with actionable insights, and support decision making. • Advanced in understanding the business questions and translating into data requirements. Define scope, objectives, and deliverables. • Strategic thinking, networking, influencing & communication skills. • Exceptional attention to continuous effort to provide the high quality of service to clients. • Passionate in keeping pace with analytics industry, including new technologies, new methodologies. • Fluency in Japanese (must) and English (business level) EDUCATION • College/University Master’s or bachelor’s degree in quantitative degrees (e.g. economics, mathematics, statistics, physics or engineering) JOIN A GLOBAL MARKET LEADER PMI is the world’s leading international tobacco company, with six of the world's top 15 international brands and products sold in more than 180 markets.
