Your 'day to day' As a Sr Engineer - Mechanical, you will lead all mechanical (ME) development related activities for core technology blocks in the Reduced Risk Products (RRP) portfolio. You will act as the Mechanical Expert (SME) in collaboration with the different partners within the company, answerable for any related technical or non-technical topics. In addition, you will be scouting and developing potential new concepts and supplier pools, working to setup the technology blocks for the upcoming integration in the Reduced Risk Product (RRP) portfolio. You will need to lead teams of external development partners in core technology development during concept phase and remain primary contact window during device development phase. Moreover, you will be contributing to processes and tools improvement dedicated to the development of RRP devices. More specifically, you'll • Lead development of all mechanical related components especially on the core technology blocks (i.e heaters) to meet the agreed product and project functional requirements and international certifications if applicable • Develop roadmaps for critical mechanical components and mechanical device architecture • Provide technical expertise on mechanical development to support the roadmap of RRP devices development in collaboration with the different internal and external partners • Support and assess external parties which are mandated for RRP devices development and manufacturing. Build and manage effective partnerships and relationship with external companies to extend mechanical design. • Supervise engineering validation testing of the mechanics in collaboration with DV team and external partners Who we're looking for • University degree in Mechanical Engineering (Bachelor's or Master's or PhD level) or equivalent • Meaningful experience in ME product design with track record in high volume manufacturing of consumer electronics or medical devices • Able to handle CAD software, preferably SolidWorks • Solid understanding of Design for Manufacturing principles • Experience in part manufacturing i.e. plastic injection molding; metal forming, machining etc. • Solid understanding in GD&T application and interpretation, tolerance stack creation and analysis, and precision measurement systems/methodologies • Experience in thermal management technology with successful design application experience would be desirable • Experience (or awareness) in medical device and process development would be desirable • Experience (or awareness) in technical project management would be desirable • Ability to build effective partnerships with external companies and handle technical and commercial negotiations with suppliers • Experimental approach mindset, oriented to quality of results with technical decisions taken on the basis of objective data and proven track record in problem solving • Ability to work in an autonomous way and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with various partners • Proficiency in English (both written and oral) What we offer Our success depends on the people of all genders who come to work every single day with a sense of purpose and an appetite for progress.
