Your ‘day to day’: As Automation Lead, you will be part of our Manufacturing Department for Philip Morris Manufacturing & Technology Bologna S.p.A. and will be reporting to the Line Lead. The position is based in the plant of Crespellano, Bologna. A key responsibility will be to lead and execute the processes for eliminating losses related to equipment softwares and systems connectivities failure at the lowest cost as well as building capabilities in the team to support in delivering the business result of the assigned lines and fully applying the Open+/IOS and PMI standards and policies. In your role, you will act as Digital and Initiative management pillars point of reference in manufacturing to support and develop systems improvement, efficiency and reliability and you will coach and support Electronic Technicians in configuration, parametrization, troubleshooting and complex process control systems modifications in order to build ownership and team autonomy. Specific responsibilities will be to: • Ensure compliance to all PMI and legal standards, policies and guidelines related to Environment, Health, Safety, Sustainability • Collaborate with the Information Security Operations team in performing assessments in the shop floor • Liaise timely with the Information Security Operations team in case of any security gap/risk exposure identified during business as usual support activities • Develop the digital control strategies to enable operators to respond to out-of-control situations and ensure that documentation is in place and used in the line(s) whenever out of limit situations occur •Ensure the digital quality control system properly run and delivery the expected quality of the product • Be responsible for reliability and optimization of process control by implementing proper procedures for adjustments and calibration, following CM processes • Coach Electronic Technicians team in ensuring good machines and process control systems performance • Provide support and expertise in configuration, parametrization and complex troubleshooting to support factory operational requirements • Contribute on the design phase of Digital Solutions/Products providing technical information about the current status of the factory (Master Data, hardware, software, firmware, etc) • Support deployment of new Digital Solution with machine integration • Ensure change management for software and hardware among equipment types (i.e.: All machines of same type must have the same current best solutions implemented) • Act as VSU leader for strategic digital/automation projects • Support cybersecurity incident management in the shop floor, in strict collaboration with the designed Information Security incident commander • Support and coach machinery start-up, complex machine changes, first industrial productions of new product/process, in compliance with established quality, safety standards and in adherence with OPEN+ pillars & system • Provide support by defining online process control systems settings and methodologies in order to reduce machine downtime and waste, and to increase quality and efficiency level • Analyze the most frequent causes of losses (breakdowns, wastes, out of specs product)s and recommend corrective actions/solutions in order to contribute to overall productivity and quality improvement in adherence with IOS/OPEN+ • Communicate in timely manner on loss elimination priorities, plans and responsibilities to ensure cross-functional alignment. Share knowledge and methods to encourage and foster benchmarking, reapplication and continuous improvement • Support training department by coaching electronic personnel on the job, in order to develop the adequate technical expertise for the manufacturing of PMI products.
