Sampoerna Received ASEAN Corporate Governance Awards 2018

Jakarta, February 8, 2019 – PT HM Sampoerna Tbk. (Sampoerna) was awarded ASEAN Corporate Governance Awards 2018 on 2 Most Improved Public Listed Companies category by ASEAN Capital Markets Forum (ACMF) in Kuala Lumpur on November 21, 2018. It strengthens Sampoerna’s standing in the international scene as one of the best public listed companies in South East Asia. This achievement also enhances Sampoerna’s reputation in ASEAN economic community.

The awards that was given by ACMF, a forum consisting of ASEAN capital market regulators including Financial Service Authority (FSA), aims to improve the profiles of South East Asian’s public listed companies in the global investment community. 

This recognition is based on the assessment carried out by ASEAN Corporate Government Scorecard (ACGS), which includes five components, namely rights of shareholders, equitable treatment of shareholders, role of stakeholders, disclosure and transparency, and responsibilities of the board.

Credible and independent parties were also involved to perform direct verification to the selected companies. At least 600 companies in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, and Vietnam were in the pool for assessment by this independent forum.
