Welcome to Philip Morris International (PMI) in Vietnam.

PMI is a leading international tobacco company, with a diverse workforce of around approximately 84,900 people and with products available in more than ~170 markets. We are building a future on a new category of smoke-free alternatives that, while not risk-free, are a much better choice than continuing to smoke.

PMI was in the first wave of American companies to enter Vietnam during the 1990s. Today, Marlboro – the world’s best-selling international cigarette brand – is manufactured and sold by the joint venture, Vinataba-Philip Morris Limited. We currently employ approximately 350 employees, of which around 100 work at the Vinataba-Philip Morris Ho Chi Minh City branch.

In 2016, PMI announced its intention to build its future on smoke-free products, which are a much better choice than continued smoking. As of December 31, 2019, our heat-not-burn product is available for sale in 52 markets. Every market plays a part in delivering on this global vision, and Vietnam is one of our prioritized markets to introduce smoke-free products in Asia. We believe our company can contribute best to public health by developing a broad range of reduced-risk, and, therefore, better alternatives to cigarettes that adult smokers can switch to.
