Welcome to Philip Morris International’s (PMI) affiliates in United Kingdom and Ireland, Philip Morris Limited and PMI Global Studio Limited.
Philip Morris Limited is an affiliate of Philip Morris International with a diverse workforce of around 350 people in the UK.
Our history can be traced back to 1847, when our founder Philip Morris opened a shop on London’s Bond Street. Today, we are a leading international tobacco company.
In 2016, we announced our decision to build PMI’s future on smoke-free products that are a much better choice than cigarette smoking. We believe that our company can contribute best to public health by developing a broad range of reduced-risk, and therefore better, alternatives to cigarettes that smokers can switch to.
The PMI Global Studio is located at One New Change near St Paul’s in central London. Working closely with PMI’s Operations Centre in Lausanne, Switzerland, the Global Studio will enable the Company to create centralized operational services spanning Digital, Global Communications, People & Culture and External Affairs supporting other PMI locations around the globe.
Following a detailed examination of the company’s existing geographic footprint, ambitious business plans for growth, recruitment opportunities and potential efficiencies through co-location London was identified as the strongest option to establish this new centre.
Our company has invested over USD 4.5 billion in scientific research and development of less harmful alternatives to cigarettes. We have submitted our research to the UK Government on our heated tobacco product to independently review our science.
While we look back with pride on our accomplishments over our history, we look ahead to an equally dynamic future when smoke-free products will eventually replace cigarettes.
Through it all, we will rely on our strength in building great brands, in innovating and inventing, and in surpassing consumer expectations.
In December 2016, the first of PMI's revolutionary smoke-free products, a tobacco heating system, was launched in the U.K.
