For our Central Functions team in Neuchatel, Switzerland, we are therefore looking for a Senior Packaging Material and structure Engineer. In this position you will: • Demonstrate technical competence to drive the development and execution of new packaging solutions for conventional and RRP products and in optimizing the existing portfolio. • Direct and lead the implementation of packaging and quality practices and apply sound engineering solutions to meet technical and business needs. Lead and handle sophisticated projects by using project management tools in a project-based environment. • Supply to and ensure complete documentation of relevant project information such as plans, budget and resource requirements are available on time and communicate project phase updates to all relevant business partners and management to support decision making along the project life cycle. • Enforce to PMI Standards, Principles and Practices, established procedures. Ensure accurate handling of confidential information and intellectual property rights. • Lead the validation of new packaging systems aligned with engineering and manufacturing requirements and ensure full compliance according PMI standards as part of qualification process. • Contribute to and drive new business case for projects covering product, process, equipment, system or facility development and improvement and in line with industry leading methodologies and approaches. Develop and improve our existing digital tools and digitalization projects. • Coordinate the delivery of the technical activities of internal and external partners to meet the identified project scope and objectives required to ensure their successful closures. • Participate to and drive the development of strategies and activity plans which will build the strategic pipeline projects (Innovation, sustainability, Productivity) and capabilities for future anticipation. • Work with multi-functional team to build, evaluate, analyze, and iterate many alternatives concepts into potential breakthrough opportunities to address consumer current and anticipate future needs. • Analyze specific product platforms consumer needs, competitive and IP landscape, sustainable materials technology fit to build innovation value spaces. • Optimally funnel winning concepts through consumer validation tests. • Establish relevant and comprehensive invention disclosures of any innovative concept and initiate, lead and negotiate the establishment of the contracts with 3rd parties to safeguard PMI’s intellectual Property. • Provide mentorship / training to relevant parties and ensure that appropriate technical expertise is used and transferred to meet resource requirements and departmental goals. We’re looking for someone with: • College/University Degree with focus on Packaging / Engineering fields. • 5+ years’ experience in CPG industry with professional know-how and exposure to the life cycle of printing/packaging development and project management. • Functional expertise required aligned with functional scope. • Collaboration, Agility and Entrepreneurship • Key attributes: Packaging, Innovation, Idea Generation, End to End Product development Knowledge and methodologies / Qualification Process, PD systems, problem-solving skills, IP, Regulatory Requirements. • Expertise in relevant science, Tobacco Industry acuity, PMI Business Processes & Practices, Market / operations understanding and influencing, Portfolio and Strategy Development, Project Management, Analytical skills, Material science and material manufacturing process, Initiative Management. • Proficient in English What we offer: Our success depends on the people who come to work every single day with a sense of purpose and an appetite for progress.
