Since 1998, GPM has been responsible for all PMI's domestic sales in Malaysia. Other brands which are sold by GPM are L&M, Chesterfield and Sampoerna. PMM currently operates a cast leaf plant in Seremban, which uses tobacco dust and stems to manufacture reconstituted tobacco to be used as one of the blend components in primary processing in the PMI manufacturing centers around the world. This 100% export facility is the largest in the world for PMI and its products are exported to PMI businesses around the globe.
PMM is actively involved in the communities where our employees live and work. Over the years, we have supported various social initiatives including the development of Information Communication Technology (ICT) Centers, distribution of computers and laptops to underserved communities, and enabling indigenous communities to gain access to uninterrupted supply of electricity and water.
We have also provided assistance to improve the living conditions of the less fortunate in Malaysia through our home repairs program. In addition, we equip women with basic self-defense skills and techniques to protect them from exploitation and dangerous situations.
Each year, we continue to provide essential school supplies to poor families in rural communities through our Back-to-School program. We are also focused towards supporting income generation initiatives for the hardcore poor by providing upskilling and entrepreneurship programs.
