Your ‘day to day’ You will work as a 12 months’ fixed term contractor to support Philip Morris Electronics Shenzhen office. (PMES). PMES operates as a subsidiary of Philip Morris International, Inc. Responsibilities: • Contribute to the development of the innovation ideas, technology & sustainability roadmap for new materials and finishes, to improve product diversity, inclusivity, sustainability, and customization. • Collaborate with product marketing, industrial design, mechanical engineering, and CMF design teams to perform CMF engineering for new products. • Participate in the validation of materials (such as plastic, metal, paint, and other materials) from the CMF (Color, Material, Finish) perspective. • Collaborate on feasibility studies for CMF roadmap and work with cross-functional teams to validate and implement new materials and finishes during the NPI (New Product Introduction) phase and provide support during the MP (Mass Production) stage. • Provide support for CMF process trials, troubleshooting, and various CMF processes such as painting, printing, plating, anodizing, etc. • Possess familiarity with CMF-related reliability tests and provide solutions for test failures. Who we’re looking for Desired Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field. • Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a CMF engineer. • Experience in Extrusion, Diecasting, Anodizing, Plastic Molding, Stamping, Tooling, Jigs, Waterborne Painting, Paint Application, and Paint Evaluation techniques, particularly in high-volume CMF manufacturing for the automotive industry. • Solid knowledge of Design of Experiments (DOE) and statistical analysis, supporting failure analysis, CM process and yield improvement, verifying CMF production feasibility, and color matching. • Familiarity with chemical, mechanical, and electrical test methods used on uncoated and coated plastic and metal substrates. Skills and Abilities: • Effective communication skills to facilitate cross-discipline communications and manage interfaces. • Flexibility in a fast-moving environment and willingness to travel. • Experience working in a cross-functional and cross-cultural environment. • Experience in manufacturing and decoration processes for plastics, metals, ceramics, leather, and textiles. • Experience in project management is a plus. • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English are essential, with proficiency in Cantonese/Mandarin being a plus.
