Your ‘day to day’: As Lab Analyst you will be part of our Quality department for Philip Morris Manufacturing & Technology Bologna S.p.A. and will be reporting to the Supervisor Aerosol Collection Lab. The position will be based in Bologna. A key responsibility is to apply well-defined methods and work instructions to perform routine analyses and technical activities to ensure that all raw materials, semi-finished and finished products are appropriately analyzed and monitored. You will ensure that instruments are calibrated for accuracy, precision and reliability of the analysis. You also will carry out calibration and/or calibration verification and collaborative test on instruments and materials (Raw Materials, Finished Goods and semi-finished) to monitor the instruments and materials performances. Your Responsibilities: • Ensure the identification and management of identified non-conformities and related corrective & preventive actions. Update and create procedures and work instructions in order to define, improve and/or to standardize Quality related activities. Consistently apply OPEN+ systems and tools. • Ensure compliance to all PMI and legal standards, policies and guidelines related to Environment, Health, Safety, Sustainability to prevent personnel, asset or societal loss. Act and promote an interdependent and transparent safety culture fostering the utilization of preventive/predictive approach in line with Open+/IOS • Analysis & controls of product and process quality plan and perform tests and analysis (physical/chemical) on the quality of raw materials, tobacco, semi-finished and finished products according to applicable procedures and analytical methods. Ensure the integrity and the timely reporting of analysis results in the laboratory management system for the execution of certificate of analysis. • Use, verify and calibrate/verify calibration laboratory equipment as per PMI & ISO requirements, in due time, in order to ensure the accuracy of results. Prepare and maintain logbooks according to QMS requirements. Non-conformities Investigation and resolve deviations and contribute to defining when appropriate corrective actions leveraging on problem solving tools. Provide timely and accurate information regarding products. • Participate in projects with influence on product quality Ensure compliance with QMS requirements and follow standards for accreditation 17025 and ISO 9001. • Ensure the identification and the properly storage of the retention samples in complete respect of PMI Standards if available. Properly use all recording systems ensuring that they are adequately completed and the data recorded can be used at any time for traceability. • Communicate all useful information for the good flow of Quality processes to concerned colleagues and support teams in order to meet quality and productivity. Who we’re looking for: • Master Degree in Chemistry (or equivalent discipline) or relevant skills through demonstrated experience. • At least 6 months of experience in the lab field (experience in QA or/and industrial field is a plus). • Strong project management experience. Formal education in PMPM is a plus. • Knowledge in MS Office Package. • Fluent Knowledge of International standards (ISO). Advanced knowledge on Quality tools, root cause analysis, analytical skills, statistical tool knowledge. Ability to transform data into information (reporting skills). • Strong communication, negotiation, ability to coach, teamwork and intercultural competence. Action orientation, analytical thinking, priority setting and strong drive for results. • Fluent in English and Italian both written and spoken.
