Position Title: Mgr. Industry Alliance Reports to: Mgr. THE ROLE • Plan and execute engagement strategy to secure and widen both domestic and international differentiated regulations between heat-not-burn products and cigarettes, including those at the Conference of Parties of United Nations Conventions (COP), with local stakeholders, including ministries, political parties, business organizations, and academics. • Explore and create engagement opportunities with such stakeholders for proactive and effective advocacy. • Search for and create opportunities to collaborate with multi-stakeholders to penetrate the concept of Tobacco Harm Reduction (THR) and promote public acceptance of risk-reduced products in Japan. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. • Gather high level intelligence on the policy discussions in the government and develop and execute strategic action plans, to secure and widen both domestic and international differentiated regulations between heat-not-burn products and cigarettes, including those at the Conference of Parties of United Nations Conventions (COP). • Build and manage constructive relationships with key stakeholders, including ministries, political parties, business organizations and academics. Create opportunities for effective engagement for advocacy on company's positions e.g. THR, fiscal, regulatory and sustainability. • Liaise with PMI OC and RHQ, as well as global international organizations and agencies on international tobacco issues. Engage local stakeholders related to these international issues with an aim to have the Japanese delegates informed and updated on the global trends. • Engage local stakeholders on Japan's tobacco industry transformation and the need for more research to be conducted on innovation in the industry. • Keep the management of PMJ and PMI informed and updated on tobacco policy discussions in the Japanese governments as well as the international fora. • Actively participate in regulatory meetings and seminars with regional regulatory and external affairs teams to ensure a common understanding about regulatory policy and strategy. QUALIFICATIONS • Preferably working experiences in/around Japanese governments on inter-governmental negotiations. • Native level Japanese and business level (or higher) level of English communication skill is required. • Understanding of legal frameworks and politics of Japanese government. • Proven capability as a project leader, also from cross functional teams and projects. • Excellent communication and presentation skills. • Excellent organizational, planning, analytical and implementation skills WHAT WE OFFER Our success depends on the men and women who come to work every single day with a sense of purpose and an appetite for progress.
