Your ‘day to day’ You will be employed in Shenzhen, China. We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to manage devices mechanical development aspects to meet the agreed product functional requirements and international certifications. You will develop roadmaps for critical mechanical components and mechanical device architecture and contribute to processes and tools improvements dedicated to development of electronic devices. Responsibilities • Deliver technical expertise on mechanical development to support the roadmap of electronic device development. • Develop critical mechanical components roadmaps covering the different electronic devices platforms to collaborate with different stakeholders. • Develop mechanical device architectures by collaboration with subject matter experts from other functions. • Supervise mechanical detailed design of electronic devices and collaborate with internal and external parties. • Supervise engineering validation testing of the mechanics in collaboration with design verification team and external partners. • Support and assess external parties which are mandated for electronic devices development and manufacturing. Build and manage effective partnerships and relationship with external companies to extend mechanical design. • Support process and tools development dedicated to electronic devices. • Respect company Compliance Policies, standards and laws and ensure that external partners respect them as well. Ensure the protection of information of a confidential nature at any time. Who we’re looking for • University degree in Mechanical Engineering. Master degree preferred. • Minimum of 8 years mechanical design experience in a multinational corporation in the consumer electronics industry. • Experience of working in a cross-functional and cross-culture environment. • Experience of CAD design and simulation, ideally in Solidworks. • Strong experience in high volume mass manufacturing processes of plastic, metal parts, and coatings. • Proved experience in high performance materials (ploymers, metals and ceramics) • Experience in working with global suppliers and cross-functional teams. • Experience in managing/collaboration with external development partners. • Experience of managing development projects is a plus. • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English is a must, and Cantonese/Mandarin a clear plus.
