Your ‘day to day’ You will be employed in Shenzhen, China. We are looking for a Subject Matter Expert, Senior Engineer - Battery Testing to lead the development and execution of battery test verification, including plan and execute battery performance and safety verification; battery characterization; develop new methodologies to validate battery performance; accelerate life cycle testing; and build and run the battery test and teardown lab. Responsibilities • Working together with the battery team, being the test engineer will build and co-ordinate test protocols to validate batteries fit for device application. • Responsible for building a relevant test lab set-up in order to execute valid tests to enhance reliability in the field application. • Provide technical expertise to other members of the battery team on test methodologies. • Able to build new test methodologies in order to validate new battery developments in an accelerated condition. Ability to build new algorithms for enhancing the battery performance in the hand of consumer would be a bonus. • Ability to analyze failures in batteries to support corrective actions. Being the skilled operator on battery test and analysis equipment. • Carry out all of the activities ensuring that company Compliance Policies, standards, and laws relating to these activities are fully respected, integrated and understood by stakeholders, and implement adequate processes to ensure the protection of information of a confidential nature. Who we’re looking for • Minimum of 5 years battery related test and safety experience for consumer electronics. • Experience on battery safety and performance verification. • Experience in managing/collaboration with external development and manufacturing partners. • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English and Chinese is a must. • Good data management skillset. • Experience in managing multiple parallel projects. • Creative individual, able to work independently whilst being a core team member. • Able to challenge direct reports, peers and senior management. • Structured approach to rationalize and develop process, tools and resources from both internal and external partners. • Experimental approach mindset, oriented to quality of results with technical decisions taken on the basis of objective data.
