Your ‘day to day’ You will be employed in our electronic office in Shenzhen, China. We are looking for a Subject Matter Expert, Senior Engineer - Design Verification in Firmware to plan and coordinate activities for the Design Verification of electronic device through the application of scientific/engineering and project management skills. Responsibilities • Design Verification (DV) SME: • Serve as a technical expert for relevant aspects of projects/processes (verification and related testing activities) • Support DV Lead to define verification test plans. • Define test methods and protocols (in close collaboration with Firmware Development Team) • Manage technical test resources (internal / external laboratory and third party suppliers) • Develop state-of-the-art automated firmware/software test methods and equipment, ensure proper commissioning and qualification • Develop test cases based on use cases for functional firmware/software robustness characterization. • Produce and review technical documents (test specifications, qualification reports, design verification plans, design verification reports) • Work closely with Product Development to help develop and provide feedback for testing and risk assessment • Provide technical expertise to support Product and Process Improvement projects (in close collaboration with Industrialization and Sustaining Teams) • Develop business justification, scope, and resource requirements for management reviews and decision making by acting as the knowledgeable resource for bringing projects to realization • Lead and direct internal project members (SME's and external consultants & vendors) to ensure project scopes, budgets, schedules and timelines are developed & managed from project initiation until closure, and is compliant to company standards • Review, evaluate and manage large quantities of research/technical information and existing PMI documents. Perform knowledge management via data compilation, review and storage in line with Company, FDA or any other equivalent accreditation authority requirements • Actively participate in strategies development and activity plans, which will build engineering pipeline projects and capabilities for future anticipation. Coordinate the delivery of the technical activities of internal and external partners to meet the identified project scope and objectives required to ensure their successful closures. Who we’re looking for • Engineering or Science Degree (Firmware, Software, Computer Science Engineering or Electronics Engineering with strong focus on consumer electronics goods). • 5-10 years of relevant experience, preferably in firmware/software design and/or testing at module level as well as finished consumer products. Relevant industries would be: consumer electronics products manufacturer, medical device manufacturer, scientific instrument manufacturer, automation products/services provider, design consultancy. • Experience in automated robustness firmware/software testing • Experience in statistical data analysis • Experience in developing test plan • Development of testing methods and protocols • Structured approach to device development and characterization is essential • Knowledge of industry test standards linked to Firmware/Software testing • Firmware/Software risk assessment awareness • Failure investigation, root cause analysis (RCA) on consumer product • Good command of English is a must, mandarin would be a plus • Analytical mindset What we offer Our success depends on the men and women who come to work every single day with a sense of purpose and an appetite for progress.
