Your 'day to day' As a Sr Scientist in Substrate Technology, you will develop nicotine and non-nicotine substrates that contribute to the performance of our Reduced Risk Products and the sensorial satisfaction of adult consumers. In close collaboration with the Consumable Design teams you will define and characterize substrate formulations, processing parameters and their usage form through prototyping and experimentations. You will build knowledge on the Critical Attributes and participate in product industrialization. Within our Project Based Organization Framework you will deliver technical solutions to development projects and follow guidelines set in the Quality Management System. More specifically, you will: • Manage research and product/process development activities • Provide scientific evidence for the control of product performance by designing experimental plans using “Design of Experiment (DoE)” principles and coordinate their execution by providing clear instruction to laboratory technicians, manufacturing teams and external partners. • Define substrate related specifications following rigorous material characterization. • Perform thorough risk assessment to support the industrialization of new substrate technologies from laboratory to commercial scale. • Ensure the timely release of design documents and specifications that went through rigorous verification and ensure that the supporting data are generated, consolidated and reviewed in line with scientific best practices. • Prepare and present clear recommendations for decisions and further research and development stages • Ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements, and company policies to follow an effective and continuous product development process. • Apply company IP strategies for new design products. Who we're looking for: • University Master Degree and/or Engineering Degree in food science, biochemistry, biotechnology, physical chemistry or similar field • You would have 5+ years of relevant research and development experience within tobacco, food or pharmaceutical industry • You would have a proven track record in problem solving, team collaboration in cross-functional projects and executing complex design of experiments supported by statistical data processing • Experience working in a laboratory and pilot plant a plus • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with various stakeholders • Fluent in English, French is an asset What we offer Our success depends on the men and women who come to work every single day with a sense of purpose and an appetite for progress.
