We are looking for a domain expert (SME) in mechanical development aspects to collaborate with multi-functional SMEs (internal & external) to supervise detailed design of the electronic devices and develop roadmaps for critical mechanical components and mechanical device architecture. Responsibilities • Provide technical expertise on mechanical development to support the roadmap of electronic device development. • Contribute to development of critical components roadmaps covering the different electronic devices platforms. • Develop mechanical device architectures with SMEs from other functions. • Lead and drive reverse engineering activities to ensure the communication and progress visibility. • Build and maintain knowledge on competitive analysis processes by crafting the accurate documentation and foster knowledge sharing in function. • Drive ongoing improvements to reverse engineering process to enrich analysis and/or reduce cost/time. • Supervise engineering validation testing of the mechanics in collaboration with design verification team and external partners. • Support and assess external parties which are mandated for electronic devices development and manufacturing. Build and lead effective partnerships and relationship with external companies to extend mechanical design. • Support process and tools development dedicated to the development of electronic devices. • Respect company Compliance Policies, standards and laws and ensure that external partners respect them as well. Ensure the protection of information of a confidential nature at any time. Who we’re looking for • University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Master degree preferred. • Minimum of 8 years mechanical design experience in a multinational corporation in the consumer electronics industry. • Experience of working in a multi-functional and cross-culture environment. • Experience of CAD design and simulation, ideally in Solidworks. • Experience in high volume mass manufacturing processes of plastic, metal parts, and coatings. • Experience in working with high performance materials (ploymers, metals and ceramics) • Experience in working with global suppliers and cross-functional teams. • Experience in managing/collaboration with external development partners. • Experience of managing development projects. • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English is a must, and Cantonese/Mandarin a clear plus. • Has an open and enquiring mind with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from other disciplines • Creative individual, able to work independently whilst being a core team member • Able to challenge peers and direct management. • Structured approach to rationalize and develop process, tools and resources from both internal and external partners. • Experimental approach mindset, oriented to quality of results with technical decisions taken on the basis of objective data • Good understanding of component suppliers and their collaborations with electronics manufacturing service companies. • Experience working with ODM business partners is a plus.
