To know more about PMI and why it is a great place to work, check out the following link: Your 'day to day' As a Senior Scientist in Substrate Technology, you will lead the research and development of nicotine and non-nicotine substrates that contribute to the performance of our Reduced Risk Products and the sensorial satisfaction of adult consumers. In close collaboration with the Consumable Design teams you will define and characterize substrate formulations and critical attributes through prototyping and experimentations. Within our Project Based Organization Framework you will deliver technical solutions to development projects and follow guidelines set in the Quality Management System. More specifically, you'll • Lead and coordinate substrate research and development projects • Design experimental plans using “Design of Experiment (DoE)” principles and coordinate their execution by providing clear instruction to laboratory technicians, manufacturing teams and external partners • Define substrate related specifications following thorough material and product characterization • Perform detailed risk assessment to support the industrialization of new substrate technologies from laboratory to commercial scale • Ensure the timely release of design documents and specifications that went through meticulous verification and ensure that the supporting data are generated, consolidated and reviewed in line with scientific standard methodologies • Ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements and company policies to follow an effective and continuous product development process • Apply company IP strategy for new product design Who we’re looking for • University degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Technology or equivalent • 5 years + of relevant research and development experience within tobacco, food, or pharmaceutical industry • Proven track record in problem solving, carrying out sophisticated design of experiment including statistical data processing • Consistent track record of collaboration within a cross-functional project team • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with various partners • Agility and curiosity • Proficiency in English (both written and oral), French is an asset What we offer Our success depends on the people of all genders who come to work every single day with a sense of purpose and an appetite for progress.
