We are looking for an experienced Combustible Category Manager based in Amman. A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum 8 years of professional experience in a similar role is required, together with excellent command of English and Arabic. Candidate should be a team player, has project management skills and demonstrate agile ways of working. RISE TO THE CHALLENGE You will be part of the Marketing team of “Philip Morris Jordan” and will report to the Head of Combustible Category Director- Egypt & Levant. For this position, we expect you to have a strategic & creative leadership skills. CCM will take on delegated responsibility for the delivery of marketing projects & assignments, your geographic scope will be PAA, Jordan, and Lebanon. More specifically you will: • Drive the business performance of the Combustibles Category at Market level with responsibility for the Share of Market. • Assist in the Combustibles Category portfolio strategy for the Market, recommend and execute brand marketing plans, working in close collaboration with Combustibles Category Director and stakeholders in the Market. • Support and ensure the local competitive superiority of the PMI Combustibles Category brands portfolio, optimizing the formats / segments mix, and managing morphing or delisting as appropriate. • Build the Combustibles Category brands equity. • Develop compelling marketing propositions to address LAS needs. • Develop brand portfolio to address the needs of the local consumer segments, promotions, and budget allocation. • Align with the market commercial stakeholders for the successful commercial planning and the route-to-market optimization of the Combustibles Category, driving and supporting the effective and efficient execution of multi-category deployment through the Indirect Retail. • Execute the Combustible Category commercial plans and deploy the toolboxes consistently with the local legal and regulatory frameworks. • Selectively innovate into fast growing segments, following the strategy of ‘fewer, bigger, better’. • Manage the end-to-end Combustible Category Digital CRM experience and support the conversion of LAS to smoke-free alternatives through bridging activities, working in close collaboration with the local Marketing & Digital stakeholders to ensure a seamless LAU experience (if applicable in the local context). • Work with Market intelligence and Insights teams to identify high-potential growth opportunities through on-going analysis of brand performance & consumer needs/trends • Coach and manage team to deliver KPIs & objectives to best perform and deliver the success of combustible category • Own the business performance of the Combustibles Category for the Market. • Define local CC portfolio and brand strategies (within global guidelines) in collaboration with Global Marketing CC and Regional CC, and develop brand power, awareness (including price awareness), consideration and LAS intent to buy. • Analysis of the Market to identify insights and opportunities. • Work closely with Creative Agencies to create relevant and engaging communication campaigns that deliver results • Manage the Market product portfolio for CC, working with PPMD and Regional CC. Selectively innovate into strategic or fast-growing segments. • Recommend promotion and pricing strategies, in collaboration with Finance/S&PD, Commercial Operations, Regional CC and Global Pricing and Revenue Management CC, to optimize commercial performance. • Leverage Digital Trade Engagement to support all CC sales and marketing activities, and to help Commercial Operations to drive efficiency and effectiveness across the indirect channels (general trade, key accounts…), as appropriate (if applicable in the local context). • Define and execute a communications strategy on Sustainability for CC (if applicable in the local context). • Meet the overall CC budget, targets, forecasts, manage the external marketing agencies, suppliers and partners – leveraging global toolboxes, PMI Omnichannel Regional Hubs and global PMI partners as preferred suppliers. • Be the ambassador of the Combustibles Category for the Market, driving regular internal communication to inspire, increase awareness and improve engagement across all functions around the category and its essential contribution to the smoke-free future. Functional competencies: To assist in building local CC portfolio strategy in alignment with global portfolio strategy, high proficiency expected in the following competencies: - Portfolio Strategy and management – Strong Strategic thinking (ability to connect the dots on disparate data sources) is critical - Brand positioning, strategy and creative execution To achieve scale and reach in delivering effective brand messages / programs stewards of the brand with the trade, high proficiency expected in the following competencies: - Content creation, localization and management - Integrated marketing communications planning - Profound knowledge of Digital Marketing (CRM / UX/ Scan pack & bridging) (if applicable to the local context) As well as solid understanding commercial model: - Omni-channel route to market strategy and planning Fundamental competencies, high proficiency level is required: - Business and financial acumen (including in depth understanding of pricing, competition and local regulatory, fiscal and legal environment for Tobacco products) - Consumer Knowledge, Insights & Analysis into action. Deep analytical abilities (ability to interpret data and draw insights) are critical - PMI CC portfolio knowledge - Project management & FFWD / Agile WOW A constructive cross-category collaboration and coordination with Market stakeholders to ensure the success of the Combustibles Category in the Market.
